Synopsis

Born the daughter of a rock star and his groupie, my life should have been full of glitz and glamour. But the excess and embarrassment of that life didn’t interest me. Instead, I killed time at Vintage, a record store where I stocked shelves and lacked ambition.

Everything changed the moment I pressed play. One simple lyric awakened me.

When I stopped denying my attraction to the man behind the music, I started questioning his intentions. We were meant to cross paths, but it wasn’t because of fate. Someone was playing with our lives.

Stephanie’s 4 Star Review:
I was gifted a copy of this book for an honest review.
I was excited to read this story when I first read the synopsis.  I though “I love rock star stories this sounds great.”  Yet Vintage is so much more than a rock star story.  There’s a love story and suspense mixed in between.
Roxanna Price is the daughter of a famous musician.  Her mom is basically a user – having gotten pregnant and using Roxanna’s dad for her meal ticket.  As you can probably imagine when you’re the child of a very influential person people only want to befriend you because of your circumstances.  It teaches you early on to only trust very few.  In Roxanna’s case one was her best friend, who was killed violently, who also had a dad that was a famous musician so they bonded over likeness and familiarity.  The second friend Rox had was a guy named Damien but he left her out of the blue with no hope of him returning.  Both instances breaking her heart.
As she had no need for money she worked for a music store called Vintage.  This is where she meets up and coming musician, Parker James.  The electric charge Roxanna feels when he’s around is nothing she’s ever felt before.  She knows it’s bad news to get mixed up with a musician though.  Nothing good comes from relationships with her.
But when the pull is so strong, sometimes it’s unavoidable.  It’s sparks flying.  It’s never ending. It’s a forever kind of feeling.  Or is it?
I will have to say part of this book were aggravating to me, I wanted the scene to speed up then other times I was like wait a minute…I’m not ready for this part to end.  HA!  It’s not an emotional story at this point for a reader.  At least it wasn’t for me.  The main character has her ups and downs.  She feels some very strong emotions toward her father and Parker James.  There’s some other things going on in the story that cause major issues.  The way this book ended…I’m just glad the second comes out soon!
