One night changed two lives forever.

When an unbelievable tragedy takes the life of her best friend, Rachel takes comfort in the arms of his older brother, Trent, who she has always wanted to see her as more than a kid sister.

A combination of guilt and grief drive Trent away, leaving Rachel behind to mourn the loss of both Randall brothers.

That one night leaves Rachel with a secret.

One she will protect at all cost.

Determined to get out of town and make something of herself, at only seventeen, she graduates early and enrolls in college with two simple goals: to make a better life for herself and to get over Trent Randall.

Unfortunately, he won’t make it easy for Rachel; he’s determined to prove his feelings for her and show her that she has nothing to feel guilty about…or does she?

CHRISTINA’S FOUR STAR REVIEW

DISCLAIMER—Although this could probably be read as a standalone, I DO NOT recommend it. This is the second installment to a continuing story that speaks about events and situations from the first book. Yes, the author does a great job referencing these events, but it will make more sense and give you a more complete feeling by reading the first book.

Rachel is the best friend, supposed girlfriend of the middle Randall child Landon. I saw supposed because they never really dated. In fact, they came up with the deal for a number of reasons. But that deal ended up causing some serious issues for Rachel. Why? Because she’s been love with Landon’s brother since elementary school. And over the years and a few interesting evenings, her past relationship with Landon can jeopardize her future.

Trent is Landon’s brother. He’s also four years older than Rachel. So imagine watching a young girl who is your brother’s best friend and girlfriend grow up in your house right in front of your eyes, having a crush on her and not being able to do anything about it. Yep. That’s exactly the issue with Trent. Besides, it’s not exactly legal for a twenty year old to date a seventeen year, right? Man, life is complicated.

I’m not going to go in to details about this book, but I think it’s made pretty clear within the blurb that one particular night changes the lives of these two. Even though it takes a while for them to finally come to terms with what’s happening, not only with Rachel, but with their lives in general, they pull it together and find the happy place they both deserve to live in….together.

“ I don’t want us like this. I want to be able to talk to you, hold you, and love you.” He presses his forehead against mine and lowers his voice. “Right now, I want you wearing nothing but that perfume.”

Gail Haris believes in fairytales, love, and laughter as the best medicine.

She was born and raised in a small town in the Midwest. After graduating with a degree in Mass Communications, Gail married her high school sweetheart and moved back to her hometown.

She’s been on many adventures traveling across America and Europe. But her favorite adventures are the ones where she gets lost in a book.

Her love for reading and traveling led her to attend book conventions. Those conventions gave her the encouragement she needed to combine her passion for creativity and storytelling. Using coffee and her imagination, she loves writing contemporary romances that blend laughter and true love out of every day chaos.

When Gail isn’t day dreaming in front of her computer, she’s busy raising her two daughters with the man of her dreams. She loves traveling with her family, binge watching television series with her husband, singing Disney songs with her daughters, and having huge family and friends get-togethers that involve lots of food and usually a cake.

She hopes by following her own dream of becoming an author, she can set an example to her daughters that dreams can become a reality. Maybe she can encourage you too.

Never stop believing in love, dreams, and yourself. And coffee…don’t give up on coffee and books.
