Incumbent was so, so good. From the first word to the last, I devoured it and could not put it down. Joanne did an excellent job on everything.
This is the story of Drake and Lucy. He is a senator. She is a teacher. They come from two different worlds, both in the past and in the present. Once they meet, both of their worlds are forever changed. Will secrets and lies be the end of Drake’s career and their relationship? Or will they be able to overcome what stands to ruin things?
Joanne definitely deserves praise for Incumbent. It was such a GREAT book. I loved Drake and Lucy’s story and I loved them. Drake is perfect. He’s sexy, smart, honest, caring, romantic and a gentleman. He won me over from the very beginning and never once did my feelings for him change. Lucy is adorable in so many ways. She’s also strong and brave.
The writing in Incumbent is smooth, fluid, easy to read and enjoyable. It’s clever, romantic, sexy and funny. It is perfectly paced with the right amount of detail. I swear I couldn’t put it down.
Drake and Lucy may be the main characters but the entire cast of characters is fantastic. From Lucy’s best friend, Mason, to Drake’s entire family, you will love them all.
Incumbent will suck you in and you will love every word of it. I seriously cannot wait for the next book in the series! I have no idea who it is about but I know it will be great! Excellent job Joanne! Incumbent has my vote as a great read!!
