Note to self: Do not allow my mother to choose a tenant for my house ever again.

I like things done a certain way.
Some call me uptight, I prefer precise.

I can’t understand why my mother thought Evie Jackson would be the type of person I want to rent my house. She knows me, knows how I live my life.

Instead of the quiet librarian I’m expecting, Evie’s a vibrant, tattooed woman who seems to find immense joy in making my life miserable.

She pushes me outside of my comfort zone. It’s called a comfort zone for a reason, and I have no interest in venturing from it.

I hate her, and I’m positive that feeling is mutual. Why else would Evie go out of her way to make my life difficult?

Author’s Note: This novella is part one in a four part serial

Virginia’s Review

The Fine Line Between Love and Hate, Part 1 was my first book by Ashley Erin and I loved it!! It’s a novella, so it’s a quick read. And it’s a lot of fun.

When Charlie’s mother finds a tenant for him to rent his house to, Charlie is happy. She says Evie will be perfect. But from their first meeting, Charlie knows Evie is going to be an issue. She is the complete opposite of him- to say the least. Charlie is uptight, rigid, anal, and doesn’t compromise. He likes things orderly and a certain way. Evie is the opposite. She has tattoos, is fun, carefree and laid back. She’s outgoing and everyone loves her. Will they get along? Can they make it their landlord/tenant relationship work despite their differences? And can they fight their attraction to each other?

I found The Fine Line Between Love and Hate, Part 1 really fun and enjoyable. Charlie and Evie have quite a few encounters where they push, taunt and aggravate each other. They were quite funny and had me laughing. Evie was very creative in the ways she tried to get back ay Charlie. It was funny watching him freak out. For two people who didn’t get along, they had great chemistry. I loved their banter and getting to know them. They are great characters and I can’t wait to see what awaits them in part 2!!

An arc was provided for an honest review.
