JACQUE’S FIVE STAR REVIEW

I have always said that Comfort Food is my absolute favorite Kitty book with Tender Mercies running a close second. Not anymore. TM is now a very distant 3rd and The Escape Artist is now tied for first place. Holy shhh-nikes! This was an absolute amazing book. The characters, the plot, I just could not put it down! Literally, could not put this book down.

Quick recap. Claire was held captive by a man who did horrible things to her. Before he can kill her, she escapes. Three years later, she’s still living in fear until one day, she spots her the captor. And then she begins to plan her revenge. She captures him, tortures him, she wants her revenge! She wants him dead so she can finally put her past behind her. Only…it’s not him! *GASP*

Clare – you just have to love her and want to hold her for all the horror she has had to endure. This whole thing could have turned out real bad for her. I guess if you are going to capture and torture someone, Ari should be the man to do it to. Ari. Mmmmmm…yummies! He had me at “Kneel” Let me wipe the drool from my chin. A Master with a heart of gold. He is just so perfect. The interactions between them had me melting.

I’ve never ended a Kitty book feeling all gooey and mushy but with The Escape Artist, I did. Clare and Ari’s story, despite their ugly, harsh and shockingly twisted beginning, had all the hotness and feels I needed. The extra characters are incredible (How on god’s green earth did you make me fall in Quill the world will never know!). The highs, the lows, the harsh, the gentle. All of it. This book has all of it. It is a must read.

CHRISTINA’S FIVE STAR REVIEW

OMG!!!!! Seriously wish I could give this more than five stars. Yep, it was THAT GOOD!!! Yes, I’m a Kitty lover and yes, I’ve read basically all of her books. But let’s put all of that aside and OMG!!!! This could actually…dare I say it…be my favorite book. And that’s saying something because Comfort Food has been my fav since I read it years ago. HOLY COW YOU GUYS….THIS BOOK!!!!!!

Ok, let me take a breath so I can actually write this review…

Although this is a standalone, I would consider it book two, following The Con Artist that was actually re-released a few months ago. Why? Because there are returning characters and issues that you’d understand a bit more if you read the first book first. So yeah, read it.

Claire was able to escape captivity. It’s been three years and she’s still struggling to just step outside her own home. Everything has changed in her life. Especially how she can’t seem to move on with her life. It’s almost as though something is missing. But when she sees a man she thinks is her former captor, her missing piece seems to have been found. Until she realizes she’s made a VERY BIG MISTAKE.

ARI!!!!!! I seriously think I’m in love you guys. If you’ve ever read a Kitty book, then you should know that there is no way in hell you should actually love any of her characters. But ARI!!!!!!! Yep, I’m a goner. Especially since he’s a WAY better man than I would have been after what he goes through.

I will NOT give any of this away! This is it you guys. My favorite Kitty Thomas book. There, I said it.

Now go read it!!!

AUTHOR INFORMATION

KITTY THOMAS writes dark sexy stories that play with power. She began publishing in early 2010 with her bestselling COMFORT FOOD and is considered one of the original authors of the dark romance/erotic subgenre.

This work is meant for an adult audience. The author does not endorse or condone any of the behavior carried out by characters in her stories. She believes fiction is meant to challenge the reader, not teach morality. If you haven’t developed morals by the time you start reading erotica, it’s probably too late.
