Synopsis:

I was warned about Tristan Cole.

“Stay away from him,” people said.
“He’s cruel.”
“He’s cold.”
“He’s damaged.”

It’s easy to judge a man because of his past. To look at Tristan and see a monster.

But I couldn’t do that. I had to accept the wreckage that lived inside of him because it also lived inside of me.

We were both empty.
We were both looking for something else. Something more.
We both wanted to put together the shattered pieces of our yesterdays.

Then perhaps we could finally remember how to breathe.

Virginia’s Review:

I have to start off this review by saying that I totally regret not reading Brittainy’s other books already. I knew her name. I knew her books. In fact I already have Loving Mr. Daniels; I just haven’t gotten around to reading it. After reading The Air He Breathes, I now know why people love her books.

The Air He Breathes is a MUST read. I literally could not put it down. I devoured it. It’s everything you want in a book. Everything. It’s perfect, it’s beautiful, it’s emotional, it’s heartbreaking, it has humor, and it has drama and mystery.

Brittainy tells the story of Tristian and Elizabeth; 2 people who have suffered major lose in their lives. Two people who are so damaged and hurt. Two people who are existing more than living. How they meet and the story that unfolds is beautiful. The story itself is beautiful but so is the writing. The emotions the characters feel in dealing with the loss of their loved ones is so realistic and heartfelt; you can’t help but cry.

The story is told in alternating point of view and Brittainy did a fantastic job on both. While some people can write, others can WRITE. Brittainy is one of those who has a special talent. Her writing is perfect. It’s a gift on paper. I found the story to be perfectly paced- nothing is rushed or dragged out.

The Air He Breathes stands out above other books. It’s a book to be appreciated. Word by word and scene by scene. Trust me- you won’t regret reading it. Go one click!
