I was given a copy of this book by the author for an honest review.

If you’ve not read Bound by Her Master, the first book in this series, you definitely have to read that first before you start with Second Chances.

In this edition of the Heart Series, Sophie finds herself paying for her bad choices.  In a true D/s relationship the Dom is the one who’s responsible for taking care of his/her submissive.  Sophie ran from her Dom and asked him not to communicate with her.  Circumstances change in a heartbeat and she finds herself needing Kyle in a way she never thought would come to fruition.  Kyle, however, is no where to be found.  Has he left her for good?  Did she destroy their budding relationship before it could fully get started?

Kyle has demons he must deal with and while he’s in the process of dealing with them….he finds Sophie needs him more than ever before.  He must move heaven and earth to get to her.  Boy does this move your heart with expectations and “seeing” how much these characters care for each other but are too stubborn to fully admit what level of feelings they truly have.

The characters evoke various emotions throughout the story.  Their BDSM scenes are worth the read alone.  This is definitely a tale of how you can learn to trust your Master if you chose this lifestyle.  Kyle is a Dom through and through.  Sophie may get on your nerves a time or two….she’s used to being independent and trying to learn how to allow Kyle to deem what’s best for her is very trying.  I don’t think I would be good at it either.

I always find these books interesting.  I like to read about the dynamics and see how the characters react together and what type scenes the author chooses to use in the story line.   I am looking forward to reading more by this author.
