This is the first book in the Band of Bachelors series, and it is the story of Lucas and Marcy.
After being caught in a compromising picture, Lucas Shipley’s wife kicks him out, and he is forced to live in a disgusting bachelor pad with four of his fellow Navy Seal buddies. While living there, he receives some bad news which forces him to move on with his life. Marcy is a realtor who is hired by Lucas’ estranged wife to sell off all of their properties. Marcy has been filled in on what kind of man Lucas is, and when she finally meets him, she is left confused. From their brief encounter, Lucas doesn’t appear to be the ogre that his estranged wife described. One thing leads to another, and she and Lucas end up sharing a couple of days filled with hot and steamy moments. After returning to their normal lifes, events transpire that lead Marcy to believe that Lucas is indeed every bit of the jerk she had previously be warned about. When they both find themselves in a life or death situation, will they realize how petty their disagreement was in the grand scheme of things?
I have to admit that I had a love/hate relationship with Lucas. I loved him because he was a soldier who repeatedly put his life on the line to protect our country, and I hated him because he could really be an inconsiderate jerk. Also, there was an issue in this book that caused me to rate it lower than I normally would. I realize that my issue with parts of the story line may not bother other readers. I guess you will just have to read it and find out for yourself.
