5 stars for Retribution by K A Robinson! This is the 2nd book in the Deception series, and it is just as great as the first book in this series, Deception.
18 year old Claire has had a tough life. She thinks marrying Robert Evans is the answer to all of her problems, but she couldn’t be more wrong! It doesn’t take long for Robert to show just how evil he really is. At first, she decides to leave Robert and never look back, but she finds an unlikely ally in Robert’s son, Cooper. They soon unite with the purpose of exposing Robert for what he really is- a monster.
Claire begins to look into Robert’s past, and she soon discovers all of his nasty secrets. When Robert reveals that he has known what she and Cooper have been up to all along, they find themselves in more danger than they ever imagined. Will they survive and expose the real Robert to the world, or will they become his next victims?
This is such a great series! The characters were well developed, and I had no problem connecting with them. The story was filled with suspense, and it kept me on the edge of my seat! Kudos to K A Robinson for creating another great series!
