This is a dark romance and you should heed the warnings that are in the front of the book. This is a story of the IVI which is a secret society you will learn about as you read the book but the main character Santiago is the son of a founding member, A Sovereign Son, so he is really high in society and the man is out for revenge. Ivy’s family knows about the IVI but she doesn’t know a lot as her father and family are really low down in the society so she basically knows not much just that she had to go to a school where the girls were terrible to her. Her sister ran because she didn’t want to be forced to marry the man she was supposed to and the Society is hunting for her but they haven’t heard a word in six years. And then there is her brother and I just want to tell you now that I hate that guy. I was rooting for him to get what he deserves but no such luck. You will just have to hate the man. He basically snatches Ivy and does some horrible things to her and forces her to marry Santiago De La Rosa. But he wants revenge as he is sure that Ivys father, Eli, the man who taught him all he knows about the finances of the IVI has betrayed him and caused mass destruction in his family. You also get to meet his sister Mercedes and she is worse I think that Santiago in the grand scheme of things. I am probably making no sense but this book was amazing. I read it in one sitting and couldn’t for the life of me put it down. I so need the next book in my hands right this second. If you have read Natasha Knight or A. Zavarelli you know they write dark books so you kind of know what your in for alone in their writing. But, together they are pure magic.
