Reckless Player by R.C. Stephens is now live!

Paris

I’ve had a crush on my best friend for as long as I can remember. But he’s a hockey winger who has quite a reputation with the puck bunnies, and I’m a nerdy girl trying to survive my biochemistry degree as a single mom.

If science has taught me anything, it’s that facts don’t lie. And the truth is Ryse and I are from two completely different worlds. He’s headed for the pros, and I hypothesize I’ll be left behind… again.

Ryse might not be boyfriend material, but he makes a great fake fiancé because he’s fooling even me. After months of subtle touches and staged kisses, our experiment finally combusts.

He may be a reckless player… but his pretend love is the realest thing I’ve ever felt.

Ryse

After my gorgeous best friend moves in next door, things go from friend-zone to chemistry off the charts. Now I’m seeing the sexy single mom in a whole new light.

It’s my year to go pro, and before I can draft, I need to clean up my playboy reputation and graduate. I can’t risk a relationship… or my friendship with Paris.
When she needs a fake fiancé to get her son into private school, I do what any good friend would do– I volunteer.

But the closer we get, the more blurred the lines become. Falling for her is a complication I didn’t calculate… but pretending to love her is the easiest game I’ve ever played.

I just hope when the game is over, I don’t lose her for good.

Renee’s Five Star Review

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

This is a friends to lovers book and it is so much fun to read. This is the story of Ryse and Paris. Ryse is a hockey player at Westfall U. He is an amazing hockey player and it is his plan to get drafted after he has graduated with his Engineering major. He lives next door to Paris who is a biochemistry major in her sophomore year. She is also a single mom and has been seriously hurt by her child’s father Tyler and is really really worried about getting into a relationship with someone new. She lives next door to Ryse and they have been friends for a few years and both have feeling for each other that neither one of them is really willing to admit out loud. They are both also really worried about doing anything that will ruin their friendship as they really both value it very much. But when Paris needs a fake fiancé to get her son into a new private school Ryse is more than willing to help her out. However it isn’t every long until things begin to feel very very real between them and she knows that he is trying to go pro and will leave if he is drafted. Ryse too needs this fake relationship so the girls or puck bunnies will leave him alone and he can get better press to impress the scouts of the teams that will be scouting him. I loved this book so much. I loved Ryse and Paris separately but together I thought they were pure fire and rooted for them from the beginning to the end of this book. This is one that you do not want to miss and is a real page turner. If you are looking for a great summer read that is super fun to get lost in, then this is the book for you!!
