Who hasn’t read a story about a superhero coming to the rescue, falling in love with the maiden and living happily ever after? Well….this is one of those stories, with a paranormal spin.

Let’s face it. When you hear paranormal, you think Vampires and Werewolves, right? Not many people would even consider a Gargoyle. Well that’s exactly what you get in this one. And not just 1 Goyle, but many. But lets just focus on Rafael for now.

This story starts when Chief Kaya Kane responds to a scene that needs to be solved. Rafael is the owner of the building the crime takes place. Immediately sparks fly. But unlike other romance novels, we get to actually learn about these two characters before they become “involved”. While we are learning about the main characters, we get to meet the supporting cast, each having stories/backgrounds of their own. The plot thickens when the “danger” hits a little too close to home, pulling all of the stories closer together.

Is there an HEA? Yep. But here’s my one gripe. I would have given this a higher rating if I didn’t feel completely duped. There are multiple aspects of this story that are unanswered. Yes, I understand that this is the first book of a series, but to have SO MANY things linger….Argh! I know that as an Author you want to keep people guessing so that they continue your series, but trust me when I say that I would have picked up the 2nd book anyway. There are just too many Goyles that need their own story.
