BLURB:

According to the press, Declan Sinclair has it all – and he’s had enough. After a decade in the fast-paced, image-driven, modeling scene he needs a change of pace. Escaping to his seaside home gives him a place to sort his thoughts and gain some clarity.

Aria Cole has built a successful renovation business. With the help of her father, she has learned that the only thing limiting a woman is her belief in herself. But what happens when the person she leans on the most is no longer there?

As Aria struggles over the death of her father, she revisits the place of cherished memories. Daily walks beside the ocean offer the solace she so desperately seeks. When a freak thunderstorm causes her to cross paths with a handsome stranger, lightning isn’t the only electricity in the air.

CHRISTINA’S THREE STAR REVIEW:

To be honest….I’m still not so sure how I feel about this book. So much so that I actually had to read the second book before I decided to write this review. Let’s see if I can formulate the right words…

Declan is a super hot, super gorgeous, super model. He’s worked really hard at branding himself and making a name for himself, but he’s starting to tire of the industry. After purchasing and renovating a beach house in a State away from the masses, he’s come up with a plan to retire from modeling, yet still have his hand in the business. But all of that is sidelined when he meets a local woman who actually sees him for who he is and not what he looks like in ads.

Aria is the local woman Declan has his eyes on. But why? She’s nothing special. She’s not the typical model he poses with, nor the women he’s seen out with around New York. So what does he like her? Does it matter? He seems like a decent man who treats her really well. Ok, and he makes her happy too. So that’s a plus. But there is ONE thing that stands in the way…..

I’m REALLY tying to write this review without giving any spoilers away, so please excuse me if I start sounding like I’m speaking in code.

In all honesty, this is your typical read. Super hot man finds average woman attractive. Woman doesn’t understand what he sees in her and thus has some self esteem issues. But there needs to be some “drama”, so throw in a jealous female model and BAM…there’s your story. Easy peezy, right? Eh…Normally, I’d agree. But I couldn’t even find a way to have “any” feelings toward the evil model. She was just….there. And then when she was there, I was just annoyed and just wanted to skip to the drama part so I could get to it. But it never came. Because….well….cliffhanger.

Now you know why I had to read the second book in order to figure out how I felt about this one. My review will continue under “Imperfection #2″…..
