Albert Walsh the Third has spent over a decade running away from his past. With no job and nothing to lose, he goes on a spontaneous drive to visit his sister in the mountains of Colorado. The simple trip proves to be more than he bargained for.

Samantha Belmont is floating through life. She’s cast her dreams aside and now works on her papa’s ranch. One night, Sam is driving home in a snow storm after a hookup when she spots a car in a ditch and saves a man’s life. She doesn’t expect to develop feelings for the hot as hell stranger. Everything about him is wrong from his pointy shoes and fancy car to his age. Pushing him away would be the smart move.

Only Al can’t be pushed around anymore. Maybe it’s because she saved his life or maybe it’s because this cowgirl is completely different from every other woman he’s been with.

Problem is Sam has secrets of her own. Secrets she doesn’t want Al to find out because if he did he’d run in the other direction. She pushes him away even though he melts her panties right off—literally. There is more than just her heart that needs protection. Al won’t give up fighting for the feisty cowgirl’s attention.

Tempers will flare and hearts will be broken.

And Sam’s plans to never settle down will be torched like the inferno of passion raging between them.

When I first started this book I about had heart failure. I lost my mom to cancer when I was twenty one and this book starts with a sick mom with cancer who is dying. My heart went to my toes, tears sprang to my eyes and my first thought was no way am I going to be able to read this book. However, It wasn’t what I thought the prologue was going to be and I just wanted to warn people that if the first few lines of this book have you running for the hills you can stay calm and rest assured you will make it though it. I do not under any circumstance that I can control do dying moms in books. It is just to close to home and I don’t want to relive anything I went thorough at that age. I know this is a strange warning, but I figure I am not the only one laying down a book because of a dying mom. You don’t want to do that with Mr. So Wrong. You will be missing one amazing book.
Albert Walsh the Third in the beginning of this book finds himself in the middle of a snowstorm in Colorado driving of all things his Porsche. He also finds himself out of a job as he was the chief of staff for the governor but his term is over and he isn’t running for reelection. He also doesn’t have a lot of money so he is basically running. One thing leads to another (remember Porsche in the middle of a massive snow storm) and he ends up in a ditch stuck on the side of the road. For some crazy reason he decides it would be a good time to take a sleeping pill and catch some rest but runs out of gas and doesn’t even realize he has been rescued until he wakes up in a strange bed with a strange woman who is mostly naked. Sam on her way back from a hookup has found Al in his car and brought him back to her house. Now he is stuck on a ranch with people he doesn’t know but with a woman he is instantly attracted too. Sam too has the same attractions but these are two people who are broken and believe they don’t deserve anything good in life. You see Sam sees herself as the town mess up and she pushes people away and is working on her father’s ranch. This is the one thing she promised her mom she would never ever do. But she has given up on her dreams, has a couple of guys she hooks up with and a best friend. This is the beginning of the story of Al and Samantha. It is so much fun to read and I really really enjoyed it. I rooted for these two and I knew that Sam was hiding something major but I sure never expected her secret to be what it is. Al and Sam need each other like we need air to breath. They both have issues and together they have the possibility to conquer them all and find their happily ever after. But, will Sam let this happen or will she push Al away? You are going to have to read the book to find out.
R.C. Stephens has written about two broken people due to life circumstances who you will love and root for the entire time you are reading. I wanted so much for these characters and I was not left disappointed. I could have read about them for longer than the book is. I was sad to see their book end but knew that their story was far from over and can just picture in my head what their life looks like now. This is what happens when you read an absolutely amazing book.
