If you’re familiar with this author’s work, then you know she doesn’t mess around, getting right down to business, and she doesn’t disappoint with this one either. What a great debut to a new series that is shaping up to be not only sexy as sin, but suspenseful as well.

Kit has found herself in a sticky situation. What kind you ask? Well, she woke up to her roommate dead in the living-room and while checking on her, managed to get blood all over herself. Now she’s not only grieving for a friends death, but is a prime suspect in the murder. Let’s add in the fact that the detective and the DA are the two men that she left town because of… Yep, things just got really complicated.

Nix is a detective in the small town of Cuttthroat. Walking in to a crime scene to not only see a dead body of a well known female, but another female that’s stared in his fantasies is a hard pill to swallow. But after pulling himself together, he did the only thing he’s been wanting to do for years. He went to claim her.

Donovan works in the DA office as one of the prosecuting attorneys. When his best friend, Nix called to inform him of both the murder AND Kit’s return to town, he couldn’t believe his luck. Or, should I say, bad luck. Because being the attorney that would try her case is the last thing he wants. What DOES he want? Same thing Nix does and it looks like it time to meet up with Nix.

Like I stated earlier, this is a short, quick and jam packed book. The relationship between these three is beyond sizzling, moving straight to blazing. The length that the men go through to help prove Kit’s innocence is endearing and genuine. The “who done it” aspect of the story is just starting to build, so you’re already looking at all the suspects (I mean other characters ;P) that you meet along the way. I can’t wait to see where this one’s gonna go next, but I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be just a steamy as this one!!!

Nix and Donovan have lusted after Kit for over a decade.  They finally get a chance to make her theirs and to heck with the murder case.  That cracked me up.

This novella is a true Vanessa Vale book.  The menage is hot and there’s a bit of suspense figuring out “who done it.”  I love reading Vale’s books because they’re quick reads and palate cleansing.  I enjoy reading these towns she writes about and the people in them.  This one is no exception.
