I was given a copy of this book by the author for an honest review.
I was hearing quite the buzz about this book before it arrived on my kindle. I’m sure you might have too. Moonshot is about a young lady growing up as a ball girl for the NY Yankees. Her daddy being a major player for the team she went to all the games – home and away. The biggest change in her life is in the form of Chase Stern.
Chase is a cocky, messed up “kid” but he’s one heck of a baseball player. He did all he could to be a part of the Yankee Organization. Then he met Ty. His whole life changed in that one meeting.
There’s quite a bit of baseball lingo in this book. Lots of stolen looks. Hot steamy touches. Burning desire.
Then in a flash it’s all gone.
This story will have you picking up the book and putting it down over and over again. I was astounded by how many chapters Torre wrote for this particular book. It doesn’t crawl. It’s a quick read around the bases.
I did have an issue with the ending of the book – it’s has a great build up then I felt, yes felt, that the book fell flat. All the questions I had were answered but maybe it’s because by the time we get to the end the climax of the book has already had it’s crescendo.
