I need her pain, and her heart, and she needs my lessons in sin. It is so hard not to fangirl big time over this book. I am a huge Pam Godwin fan and have never made any secret of it. I’ve read every book she has ever written and naturally have my favorites and this one is right up on the list of them. This is the story of Tinsley Constantine and Father Magnus Falke. Tinsley is in her senior year at school and she is eighteen years old. Her family is basically the ruling family of her hometown of Bishop’s Landing. So when she gets caught with a boy that works at Burger King to put himself through college doing something she shouldn’t be doing her mother has had it with her behavior and has decided that she needs to be sent to a Catholic School to learn a few lessons. She ends up at Sion Academy with bars on the walls and far away from anything. Tinsley is convinced she is being sent to a prison as punishment and her life as she knows it is ending. After all she is a Constantine and certain things are expected of her as her family even though we aren’t exactly sure what exactly they do, have standards and she will one day be expected to marry for not love but the benefit of her family and their power. She is not having this school though and finds herself on her hands and knees begging her mother to not make her stay with Father Falke enters the room and all the air is sucked out of it as he takes it all away with just his presence. He is also a stunning man in his appearance and he is the owner and ruler of this school and they aren’t afraid to use corporal punishment. Needless to say her mother has no mercy and she leave her there in this school knowing good and well she has a mouth on her and will end up in trouble all the time. Which is exactly what happens but there is so much more going on than just her running her mouth and punishments. You see Father Magnus is not your average Father. He use to be on of New York’s most eligible bachelor’s and he is rich. Like super rich and one heck of a businessman. But he has a touch of darkness in him. His tastes are really out there and he became a priest to get away from that and he needed to get away for his own sanity from the way he was with women. So for nine years he has ruled the school, expelled anyone who has ever tried to seduce him and he has a firm hand and takes nothing from anyone no matter who their family is and Tinsley is no different. No special treatment and seeing as how her mom threatens him in the beginning he absolutely will keep her in line. I have to be quiet about the story now as I am so afraid I am going to give something away. I loved this book. I hated for it to end but oh what a ending it is. This is a complete novel so you do not have to worry about their being a huge cliffhanger. You have family drama, a girl who only wants to discover who she is and what she really wants in live before her family forces her to marry a man they choose. A man fighting his demons and running a school with an iron first and an attraction that will melt your kindle. These two are perfect for each other if only they would stop fighting it. He won’t touch her and she wants to touch him because she wants to be expelled from the school. Or is that really the reason for her behavior? You have to read to find out, but trust me you do not want to miss this book. It will go down as one of my favorites of 2021 and I know that I will reread this on many many times. I can’t get enough to Magnus and Tinsley!!! I love that Pam Godwin created a world that I didn’t want to leave and a story so full of connection and passion that you feel it in your very soul!
