Jesse Dylan was my best friend, my first kiss . . . and my first heartbreak.
Watching him walk out of my life almost ruined me. But years have passed, and the pain of losing him has long since faded.
Or so I thought.
One glimpse in his cobalt eyes and those old wounds reopened. Jesse wants a second chance at what might have been, but it’s too late. I’m with someone new. Someone safe. Someone who can’t break me.
Yet, the heart wants what it wants, and mine has only ever beat for the one who got away. I can’t deny him. I can’t resist him. He consumes my every waking thought and invades my dreams.
After all these years, I find myself wondering if I’ll ever truly stop loving the boy who taught my heart to hurt.
Jesse abandoned me when things got too difficult once.
I’m about to find out if lightning can strike twice.

Renee’s Five Star Review:
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

Oh wow!! You just need to get ready to read an amazing book and dive right on end. Jesse and Wren got to be friends in junior high school. They were certainly inseparable. These two did everything together. He was her first kiss after all and then one day when he was sixteen he just up and left town and cut all ties with Wren. At this point my heart broke too. If we all are honest we have had a first love in high school and more often than not I am sure most of us had our hearts broken. However five years has passed and Wren has a new someone in her life. He is actually a law intern and is from a very well to do family. Jesse though is back in town because him mom needed him when his stepfather passed away. He is also carrying around a lot of secrets and is so embarrassed to see Wren. However when she sees him the sparks are still there and this brings on a whole batch of other problems. Not to mention that Jesse has a girlfriend. My goodness this book has a little bit of everything. I devoured it and loved every second of it. I felt so many emotions alone with Wren. The book is so well written that it should be a movie that we all can enjoy that too. If you love second chance romances that have twists and turns, deals with friends to lovers, and a love triangle then you don’t want to miss this book. It is absolutely amazing.

Jane Anthony is an Amazon best-selling author of contemporary/erotic romance. She writes hot blue-collar dudes, raunchy rockstars, and fun feisty heroines. Her work is gritty and real and will have you cursing her name and begging for more. Jane gives a bit of herself and her quirky knowledge in each novel by incorporating her love of music through a book-specific playlist and adding things uniquely Jane to the plot, like her crazy family or ’80s trivia. When she’s not busy being mom or Mrs. A, you’ll find her at a concert, lost in a book, or watching horror movies with her husband.
