BLURB:

Exiled beast charmer Leena Edenfrell is in deep trouble. Empty pockets forced her to sell her beloved magical beasts on the black market—an offense punishable by death—and now there’s a price on her head. With the realm’s most talented murderer-for-hire nipping at her heels, Leena makes him an offer he can’t refuse: powerful mythical creatures in exchange for her life.

If only it were that simple. Unbeknownst to Leena, the undying ones are bound by magic to complete their contracts, and Noc cannot risk his brotherhood of assassins…not even to save the woman he can no longer live without.

CHRISTINA’S FOUR STAR REVIEW:

I literally stared at this book on NetGalley for about a month before I FINALLY requested it. Thank the Gods I did, because this was seriously worth every page.

As a Paranormal Romance lover, I’m always looking for “that book” to take me to another world full of the unknown, yet filled with hopes and dreams that provide that happily ever after euphoria. This book does NOT disappoint and I’m already finding myself suffering from a book hangover. AHHHHH!!!

Leena is a Beast Charmer. As such, she has magical powers that allow her to not only tame some of the largest and fiercest beast, but provides a safe place for them as well. That is, the beasts she keeps for herself. Now that she’s been exiled from her home, she’s had to resort to selling a few on the black market to survive. Something that’s only made her current situation worse. But she has a plan. And it’s time to find that beast and tame it.

Noc is the leader of the Assassins known as the Cruor’s. Although they too were exiled many years ago, they make their living as hired assassins for both the Kingdom and other shady individuals. But when his right hand man shows up in his home with the person he was supposed to kill, the game officially changes. To save his right hand man, a barter is made. But is it one he can live with?

This book is full of beasts, magic and lots of adventures. To say that it wasn’t completely enthralled the entire time would be a blatant lie. The chemistry between Noc and Leena was perfect. It wasn’t necessarily “love at first sight”, but rather a true building of chemistry. I’m pretty sure that’s another reason I love this so much. In fact, I couldn’t get enough. I’m jumping up and down for joy because this is JUST THE BEGINNING and I get at least two more in this series!!!!! Yeah me…..I mean, us. Whatever…..

If you’re not used to paranormal reads and decide to pick this up, here’s a little advice. Remember, this is a whole new world (cue Aladdin music). It takes time to set up the world and characters within it. But once everything is established, buckle up and enjoy the ride. You won’t regret it.
