He was forbidden, my boss and incapable of loving me.

People talked about him, whispered about him in passing.

He was the king of his town.

And I was a visitor.

I was by no means a smart girl. Never loved with my head, always with my heart.

That fact alone almost killed me once.

I should have listened the second time around.

But the king of this small town, had me starving. Had me craving his taste.

My name is Kandi, and he called me his Kandiland.

The king declared I was his medicine, and with each dose, he became better and better.

He was the perfect liar.

And I was his perfect Kandi.

Together, we were explosive, and toxic in every way.

Renee’s Five Star Review:
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

Head me craving his taste. My name is Kandi, and he called me his Kandiland. The kind declared I was his medicine, and with each dose, he became better and better. He was the perfect liar. And I was his perfect Kandi. Together, we were explosive, and toxic in every way.

When I saw that this book was going to come out I started stalking for the sign up to read and review it. I just knew that this was going to be a book that I was going to love. I wasn’t wrong but I was wrong about how much I was going to love it. I devoured this book almost in one sitting. If my family hadn’t needed to eat supper I wouldn’t have put it down. In Kandiland we meet Kandi who loses her high school sweetheart and husband to tragedy. She was so in love with Jarod and he was her entire life. They never settled down in one place but he had talked about a town named Candy. Once she is done with her grieving she decides that Candy is the town that she needs to move to and put down roots. It is time for her to start living again. However she never expects after buying her cottage and going in search of furniture for it to run into the hottest man she has ever in her life seen. He is electric and she can feel his presence down to her very soul. Now trying to get settled she receives a card that has Candy Village on it and she decides to check it out. She never expects to run into him again and this is where she learns his name is Huxley and he owns almost everything in the entire town. Soon she is working for him as his assistant and he makes it clear that he wants her. Kandi has be grieving for so long that she has forgotten what it felt like for your entire body to heat up and butterflies to fly wildly in your stomach. She doesn’t even remember things being so intense with Jarod. But is Kandi ready to let another man into her life and fall in love again. Maybe we only get one love in our lives and she has already had hers. But the feeling for Huxley only get stronger each and every time she sees him. He makes her an offer, he wants to be with her but only as bed buddies. You see Huxley does not do love. He has fought and scratch and clawed his way to were he is not and he has only every really cared about one person and that is his foster sister Pam. He things he in not capable of loving anyone. Wouldn’t even know where to begin to know what love actually feels like. This book has a lot of things going on it it and you will not be able to put it down. Can Kandi open her heart again after Jarod broke it when he passed away? Can Huxley learn how to love? Does Kandi want to take him up on his offer? The chemistry between these two is scorching hot. There is a twist that will blow you away but most of all it is just simply one of the best book I have read all year long. T.L Smith has hit a home run with Kandiland. Trust me you do not want to miss this book.
