Blurb: “Bully to the highest degree. Heartless Hero is a must read for 2019.” Sarah, Musings of the Modern Belle

There are rules to being Abigail Crowne’s bodyguard, rules to watching the infamous billion-dollar heiress, otherwise known as the Reject Princess.

Never forget your place, always put the Crowne name above all else, and never, ever hurt the Reject.

Especially don’t torment the Reject.

Even if she is a spoiled brat.

So when an opportunity presents itself to punish her, you definitely shouldn’t take it. Then again, Abigail loves to be tortured, and I’ve waited patiently for revenge.

I’ll keep her safe… with cruel protection.

Love is off limits with Abigail Crowne, but no one said anything about hate.

Renee’s Two Star Review:

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

There are rules to being Abigail Crowne’s bodyguard, rules to watching the infamous billion-dollar heiress, otherwise known as the Reject Princess. Never forget your place, always put the Crowne name about all else, and never, ever hurt the Reject. Especially don’t torment the Reject. Even if she is a spoiled brat. So when an opportunity presents itself to punish her, you definitely shouldn’t take it. Then again, Abigail loves to be tortured, and I’ve waited patiently for revenge. I’ll keep her safe…with cruel protection. Love is off limits with Abigail Crown, but no on said anything about hate.

Abigail was born into a family so rich that they thought they were above everyone including the law. When she was thirteen she picked up a homeless boy and they grew up together until his gradpa took him to train him to be a bodyguard. Her bodyguard. However what he comes back as cranky evil man because he had always loved her and she had turned her back on him. Ok….I don’t even know where to start but that is the jist of the story but what you don’t get in a review is just exactly how awful all these people in this book are. I don’t think there was a one of them that I liked and to be honest I did not finish this book. It was to immature and just got on my nerves so bad that I was having to make myself read and no one should ever have to make themselves read. The most unbelievable things happen in this book and I for the life of me would hate to live in a world where everyone is so nasty to each other. It reminded of me of Cinderella and the main female character was the outcast to her stepsister and I asssume the bodyguard probably ends up being her prince but I just couldn’t read to the end to find out. This story didn’t flow and gets a bit bumpy and was just driving me insane.

Excerpt: “I’m not like your other guards, Reject, you can’t scare me away. Your secrets are mine.”

He took another step. “Your mind is mine.”

My back bit into the wood. “Your body is mine. How else could I protect you?”

A moment passed forever, all too aware of his body pressed into mine. I tried to control my face, not let on how unnerved I was. Protect me? More like destroy me.

I gave myself away with a hard swallow, and Theo stepped back, a cruel smirk on his lips.

“Get dressed,” he said.

“So you can make mom hate me even more? No thanks. I’ll stay here.”

Today was one of my most favorite days in the entire world, but if Theo wanted me dressed, instinct said I should do the opposite.

A cruel smile passed his lips. “Scared?”

“No. I’m just not in the habit of listening to my bodyguards.”

“Get dressed, or I’ll dress you.”

A ripple of excitement raced up my spine, one I quickly disregarded as shock. “You wouldn’t dare.”

“Want to test me, Reject?”

About the Author: I started writing the moment I could read. My first characters were Wibbley and Squig and I used MS Word and clipart to bring them to life when I was a kid in elementary school. I started seriously thinking about being a writer in High School and I remember the day exactly, because it was such an epiphany. I was always so uncertain. You know how everyone was always asking what you wanted to be when you were older? Well I NEVER could decide.

I wanted to be a marine biologist.

An actor.

A FIRE FIGHTER (thank you Joaquin Phoenix in Ladder 49 for that phase).

One day it hit me—A WRITER. I could do it ALL. Then you couldn’t stop me from writing. I penned my first novel at fifteen (but don’t ask me to show it to you, because it’s like I was in competition to beat the thesaurus). When I was diagnosed with a chronic illness, writing became even more important, because it became my therapy. When I wrote my characters, suddenly I wasn’t so alone.

These days you can find me daydreaming about where to travel with my husband, singing in my car, or lost in the newest K drama. And planning my next novel, of course
