Meet Kyler and Mia. He’s a respected police detective and she’s an art museum director. He’s a Dom. She craves submission. One more thing…her daddy is his boss!
So you can see by that little tidbit one might have a hard time Dominating the bosses daughter. Kyler is already under investigation. The Commissioner is new and everyone is dirty until proven innocent. Kyler had been injured recently and of course had Internal Affairs questioning his ability as well as his loyalty.
To relieve his stress he frequents a club – where he meets Mia. Kyler isn’t interested in a serious D/s relationship. He tells Mia this up front. One time – that’s all she wrote. Only their first time is spectacular. Fireworks and explosions of off the chart connection between the two. Bending his own rules isn’t something this Dom is comfortable doing yet finds himself looking for her in the club and finding a reason to scene with her.
I like the way Laura Kaye has written this story. I think this could actually happen in real life. It’s very “real” circumstances for sure. You can easily read the ease in which they click with one another and then the uncomfortable feelings when they push one another to a different level than agreed upon.
Not to mention Kyler’s boss is her dad! It’s hard to ask someone to serve you when her daddy has your future in his hands. Not to mention Mia is a forever kind of girl. Does Kyler want o her bad enough to break all his rules and get her daddy’s approval? Only the story will tell.
