Full Disclosure: I only read the first book in this series before picking this one up. Mainly because it was on NetGalley and current. But it didn’t matter. This still reads like a standalone.
Price is one of the operatives with SSI. He’s strong, handsome and knows what he wants. And he wants Tara. Problem? Yep. He can tell that she’s not like all of the other women he’s dated and he doesn’t want to mess this up. But is he gonna wait too long or have the balls to do something about it?
Tara has been helping SSI with clearly the brush and forest around the perimeter. Having worked as a smoke jumper and firefighting instructor, this was easy work. That is until someone tries to snipe her while out clearly the forest. Now she finds herself being hunted, yet protected by the one man she’s had her eyes on for a while now.
You’re not going to find a damsel in distress here. Every single woman in this series are badass chicks that don’t take anything from anyone…including their men. The chemistry between Price and Tara is extremely cute and sweet. But it’s probably the drama and suspense of this book that had me turning the pages.
