Have you read Confess?? If not I highly recommend that you read that book and I would do it first simply so you know the back story of Gypsy and Birdie. In Confess you get the story of Gypsy and Lucian. But you do meet Birdie and Ace there. That book doens’t end in a cliff to begin in this book it just leaves a nice opening for Birdie and Ace’s story. I am so excited that we got this book. I just knew that Ace had an amazing story to tell and that he and Birdie were going to be perfect for each other but not without having to go through danger and lies and hidden secrets. In this book Ace has been asked by Gyspy to take her sister Birdie and keep her safe. You see Birdie is a con artist and she pulls some careless and reckless cons and is wated by law enforcement. Detective Taylor is the one who wants to capture her the most and bring her to justice. Ace is a quiet man who is loyal to Lucian and by fault becasue they are now married, Gypsy. He can’t tell her no about taking care of Birdie, but he knows that he should. She stirs things up in him that the man never new existed. But he is a ex-con and really has never had any experience with women. This book will hook you from the first page and have you not wanting to put it down. Darn the laundry and cooking that must be down around my house. It made me have to put this book down and I wasn’t thrilled to do it at all. I loved these characters so much and Convict was just as good as I knew it would be. I closed Confess wanting the story of Birdie and Ace and boy oh boy did I get it and can’t say enough good things about it. You do not want to miss this book. You do not want to miss Confess either. If you like your books dark and gritty and full of secrets with some major twists and turns you do not want to miss this series. It’s one I am sure I will reread several times. A Zavarelli has hit this one so far out of the park . She is quickly becoming on of my must read authors. If you have never read her books this is a good set to start with. Trust me though, once you start her books your going to want to read them all!!!

Excerpt: He dragged his nose through my hair, breathing me in. And then he pressed his lips against the shell of my ear, repeating the process all over again as he kissed his way down my jaw. When he finally got to my lips, I was hungry and wet for him. Dinner was scattered on the floor around us, long forgotten as his fingers grazed the hem of the silk robe against my thigh. He pulled it aside, then repeated the action on the other leg.
Leaning back, he studied my face before his eyes drifted to the part of me he’d exposed. I was open for him. Vulnerable to him. He could see everything, and I didn’t try to hide it. This was the broken, filthy part of me he needed to see. It was now or never. He could take it or leave it.
His attention drifted up while he tugged at the loose fabric covering my breasts. When he was finished, all that remained was the rope around my waist and the fabric pooling at my sides. Just like with everything else, Huck did it in his own way. He reached for the zipper on his jeans, slowly dragging it down while his eyes locked onto mine. They were filled with dark promises and threats that reflected in his voice.
“Tell me to stop, Birdie. If you don’t, I’ll never let you go.”
“Don’t stop.” I forced the words from my raw throat. “Don’t you fucking dare.”
