CHRISTINA’S 3.5 STAR REVIEW:
Being a PNR lover, I jumped at the opportunity to read this book. Especially knowing it was the first in it’s series. All in all, it was a good start, but I found myself struggling a little to “get in to it”.
Lucian, aka Lucifer Morningstar, is exactly who you think he is. Many have called him the Devil, but in truth, he’s just a fallen angel doing his job collecting the souls of those who deserve their fate. But it seems as though that’s not his only job considering his brother has other plans. So how will he defeat his brother? A vision has lead Lucian to Lilith in hopes that she has the answers.
Lilith was dying from the plague until she wasn’t. She was saved by none other than Lucian himself. But was she really saved or condemned to a different type of hell (pun intended). Although she’s resented him for centuries, she can’t help but feel something for him. After all, he has given her a family. Too bad Lucian’s brother is trying to destroy it. Good thing she’s the baddest female in the realm.
There is SOOO much going on in this book!!! Almost a little too much. I think that’s why it took me a really long time to get in to the swing of things. Deciphering the realms, how time works in each realm, keys, and other supernatural beings became difficult at times. But once I felt I had a handle on it (sort of), I was able to enjoy the book for what it was.
