This is the second book in the KORT Series. You really need to read Burning Ivy before diving into this book. This is the story of Celeste and Liam. She is expected to live up to a legacy that she wants absolutely nothing to do with. Liam is a cabal leader for KORT. The man never gets involved with anyone. He is more a one night and never see them again kind of guy. However Celeste has caught his eye and he can’t for the live of him understand why the pretentious Carver princess is making him feel things he has never felt before. She too is feeling things that make her willing to trade all that she has worked so hard for her entire life and tarnish her family name just for a change to be with Liam. I will go ahead and warn you that Liam is going to steal your soul. He is one of those he will be my book boyfriend forever kind of characters. He is certainly a tortured soul and things in his past have shaped him into the man he is today. The one thing he wants more than anything it to be chosen. Celeste has had the total opposite life. and has been groomed to live her life a certain way and she is so very unhappy. My heart really broke for her. However she has to do this for her family. I think that these two were perfect for each other. They really needed each other and they really brought out the best in each other. I could go on and on about them but I don’t want to give anything away. You need this book in your life. It is so good.
