This is the 2nd book in the Djinn series, and it is the continuation of Kyra’s story. Since coming to the compound, Kyra has learned a lot about herself. She is a djinn, and she has learned that she has some sort of telekinetic powers. She has also learned that she is in love with Will-someone that she is forbidden from having a relationship with . Although she has gained some information, she still has a lot of questions. Why are the blooders after her? What is it that her mother is keeping from her, and why is her best friend avoiding her? When she finally learns the truth, she puts herself in a very dangerous situation that could end in pain and devastation. She refuses to give up. Kyra comes up with a plan to rescue the Djinn who were taken by the blooders. She also plans to rescue her dad who is being held captive by the blooders. She places her trust in a person who appears to want to help her, but this all blows up in her face. While she is successful in regards to rescuing the Djinn who had been kidnapped, several of her friends get hurt, and the man that she loves is presumed dead. The book ends with Kyra and her dad being kept as prisoners. I am really looking forward to the publishing of the next book in this series so I can see how the story plays out.
