Welcome to Neverland. Where shadows consume and magic is frighteningly real.

Ava is struggling to provide for herself and her sister, who slips further into insanity with each passing day. Raving about Neverland. Obsessed with a Second Star that Ava can’t see in the black, velvety sky. Until the night Belle succumbs to the terrifying shadows plaguing her and sweeps Ava away to a land that is only supposed to exist in storybooks.

Neverland is real. And so is Peter Pan.

He’s grown from boy to man, wielding a terrible power he uses to rule the island. When he senses Ava’s presence and sends his Lost Boys to collect her, a dashing captain with a silver hook for a hand comes to her defense. He offers her protection aboard his ship, and the help of his crew to find Belle before Peter and his Lost Boys do. But what he asks for in return might be more than she or her sister can possibly pay.

Belle once stole something invaluable from Peter Pan, something Hook and his crew need if they’re ever to escape the cursed island’s thrall. And despite their undeniable attraction, Hook will do anything to claim it before Pan can.

“An utterly enthralling retelling that will leave you breathless and begging for more!” – Jenny Hickman, author of A Cursed Kiss

Renee’s Five Star Review

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

Welcome to Neverland. This is a retelling in the Peter Pan world. This is a dark book and you are for sure not getting the Peter Pan of your childhood. This Pan is ruthless and scary and dark. Ava finds herself in Neverland all because she was helping her sister Belle. Once they are there they are separated. This is where Hook comes into the story and the beginning of a twisted game of cat and mouse with Peter Pan. That’s about all I can say about this story for fear of giving something away. There are twist and turns and mind blowing events that happen in this book. I picked it up and didn’t lay it down until I was finished. I am beginning to think I am a sucker for a great Peter Pan retelling. This is one that you do not want to miss. I loved every single second of it.

Casey Bond lives on a rural farm in West Virginia with her husband and their two beautiful daughters. She writes phoenixes – gloriously flawed and morally gray characters that fiercely rise from the ashes of their circumstances. World building is one of her favorite hobbies, along with stamping metal jewelry, swimming, and enjoying the beauty of nature. She thinks thunderstorms are better than coffee and that watching a meteor shower is the closest thing to magic you might ever see. She’s a firm believer that every amazing book needs a world you want to wrap yourself in, a character you want to win, and a love you would fight for.

Casey is the award-winning author of When Wishes Bleed, Gravebriar, and House of Eclipses.
