This is the story of Roman and Effie. This is the second book in the Men of Falls Duet.
Roman is the owner of a hotel and casino in Niagara Falls. The Maple and The Maple II in Toronto. He is a serious businessman and takes pride in the way he runs them and even the laundering of money through those hotels. To the world he is this straight laced businessman but if you know him for his not at all legitimate business, you fear him. He will not think twice about taking you out if he has to. While he has an amazing family to his best friend Aldo and brother Luca and their wives and his Nonna, he does not believe in love at all. It’s not for him at all. Never has been for him. Until he puts an innocent woman in serious danger and decides that he has to protect her at all cost. Effie is the owner of a diner. When Roman walks in he is giving off serious danger vibes and she knows that she needs to not have anything to do with him. Never thinking that the one man would cause her to be in danger or cause so much trouble for her. She never expected him nor he her. This is their journey and I loved reading every second of it. Effie is a really strong character and really smart and she gives him a run for his money. It was fun to watch Roman Costas fall and fall hard. You do not want to miss this duet. It really loved reading it.
