What do you do when you lose the single most important thing
in your life? You grieve. You sink so deep in a hole, you can no longer see the
top. All you see is dark. Your life becomes dull and dreary. You withdraw from
your friends, lash out at the ones your closest to, and become so absorbed in
your pain, you feel the only way out is to end it permanently. Your heart no
longer pumps properly and you can never get enough air in your lungs. You
drink, you neglect your health, and you rent dirty hotel rooms with the sole purpose
of ending your pain in them. Guilt eats at you for not being at the one place
you were needed the most. And you become angry because you were left behind.
Or at least, that’s what I did. Until she came along…

Chris, the bane of my existence. She’s always there in the
background, watching me, trying to ‘be there’ for me. But I don’t want her
help. I don’t need her to butt in where she’s not wanted. I just want to be
left alone in my grief. But she not giving up, even when I throw insult after
insult her way. Every time I turn around, there she is. And what’s worse, she’s
starting to make me want things. Things I never thought I could have again.
She’s making me forget the pain and bringing color back into my life with her
fiery red hair, bright green eyes, and the silly faces she makes at herself in
the mirror. But what happens if I let her in? Could I be brave enough to open
myself up, knowing the possibility of having it snatched away again. Once I
know the feeling of touching Chris, of having her heart and soul blend with
mine, I would never survive losing that.

Can I take the chance of her being my savior, even knowing
that she could also be the one that could push me other the edge of
self-destruction?

Renee’s Five Star Review

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

Awaken Me is the fourth book and the conclusion of Alex Grayson’s The Jaded Series. While each book can be read as a a standalone I so recommend reading the other three books first. Each book revolves around one couple but contains a group of close knit friends. Awaken Me is Nick and Chris’s story.

Nick has lost the most important person in his life. The love of his life, his forever. Nick was the happiest carefree person until tragedy struck and changed him in huge ways. He became closed off, harsh and withdrawn from his friends. He’s not living he is simply existing. He lives so deeply inside his grief, guilt and pain. He quiet frankly no longer cares to be living. Until……Chris. The bane of his existence. She’s always watching him trying to interact and be there for Nick and he’s having none of it. Chris however is not giving up on Nick. Can Nick find it in him to open up and love again or will he stay so wrapped up in his grief he never really sees the true light of day again?

Oh my goodness…I knew this book would be hard to read. I knew from that moment in Shatter Me that Nicks book would be the one that would totally rock my world. Is is an emotional rollercoaster. It’s a book you don’t read but you experience. It will stay with you for the rest of your life on some emotional level. Alex Grayson has written this book so well you can feel the emotions flying off the pages. She will rip your heart out and slowly out it back together. This is an ending to a series that will leave you breathless. It’s beyond amazing.

Thank you Alex Grayson for writing this series. For creating such amazing characters. There is no way possible I will ever forget them or their stories.

Renee’s Four Star Review

Shatter Me is the first book in The Jaded Series but is a standalone. Each book though focuses on a different character who are present thought the series.

Bailey Windsor is living in a world full of unimaginable things to most people. She’s in danger every second of every day even after she runs. Raised with parents who had no business with a child anywhere near them. She thinks she’s found her salvation in Steven and marries him. Just when life looks perfect it all falls to pieces when Steven shows his true self. Running and knowing that if Steven catches her, she arrives in the small town of Jaded Hollow Ohio. Bailey has no choice but to find a job to have more money to keep running.

Jaxon “Jax” Walker is the owner of the local bar and meets Bailey when she comes looking for a job. The second he lays eyes on Bailey his attraction to her is immediate and he knows there are huge secrets Bailey is keeping from everyone. Jax wants nothing more than to protect Bailey It’s been a long time since he’s met a woman he wants to make his own and he will do whatever it takes to make Bailey his and safe.

Can Bailey trust the people of Jaded Hollow and most especially Jaxon and his friends or will she never open up and run again?

I really enjoyed this book. There are some heavy bordering in dark elements to this book so it may not be for everyone. Bailey is a character that is probably one of the strongest there is to survive like she has. You just don’t get the story of Jaxon and Bailey but meet a whole cast of characters your going to fall in love with. From Chris who is Baileys best friend and help to Jaxon sisters Mia and Anna with her boyfriend Nick and the Sheriff of the town Mac, you will fall in love with them all. It’s a small town and they are close knit and extra protective of everyone in the town. This book will have you laughing and crying and certainly on the edge of your seat.

The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is I felt it was way to wordy. I didn’t need to know every minute detail of every thought that went through Baileys head before she said a sentence. I found myself skimming at times to get through a conversation. That said though , if you feel yourself feeling like I did do not give up because of it. It’s a story well worth reading and you will be breathless by the end of the book.

****WARNING! PLEASE READ!! This book contains content like rape, drugs, and hard situations that may trigger bad memories for those that has been in similar situations. Not suitable for anyone under 18. ****

Enduring the ultimate betrayal on her eighteenth birthday by the one person she loves most in the world, Mia Walker is no longer the innocent, sweet, young woman she used to be. She is now cold and hard, letting no one get close to her heart, except family.

Mackai (Mac) Weston sees the changes in Mia on a daily basis. He knows he is the reason Mia is now the way she is. Never given the chance to explain what really happened that night so long ago, Mac is determined to make Mia finally listen and reclaim what was always his.

When the truth finally comes out, danger shows its ugly face. There are people in Jaded Hollow that do not want Mac and Mia together. They are willing to do what ever it takes to keep them apart.

Will Mac be strong enough to overcome temptation, even when the odds are against him? Will Mia forgive Mac when she realizes things weren’t what they seemed ten years ago?

Reclaim Me is the second book in Alex Grayson’s The Jaded Series. Each book can be read as a standalone. However, the same group of friends are in each book with the focus on a different couple. The other books are so worth reading though. Reclaim Me is Mia and Mac’s story.

Mia Walker has had a thing for Mac Weston since he became her older brothers best friend. Their friendship grew over time and turned into something more. With a two year age difference between them Mac and Mia decide to wait to act on their feelings until Mia turns eighteen. On her eighteenth birthday unimaginable things happen that tear them apart. Mac is now the Sheriff of Jaded Hollow and Mia is hard and cold and let’s no one get close to her. Can Mac and Mia ever find their way back to each other?

I knew I was going to love reading Reclaim Me after I had finished Shatter Me and gotten glimpses of the tension between Mia and Mac. This is a book about second chances and finding your way back to your soulmate. There are so many secrets that have been kept and for the past ten years Mia wouldn’t let Mac explain his side of what happened. With him explaining the circumstances Mia and Mac still need to figure out the why and who else is involved in keeping them apart. This books is full of passion and danger with a big old slice of crazy thrown in for good measure. You get to peep into the other characters lives along the way too. I loved seeing where everyone was at in their lives and spending time with them again.

Andrew Donovan is the outrageous goofy guy that everyone loves. In any setting he’s in, he takes front stage and makes everyone laugh; from his ridiculously funny t-shirts, to his naughty jokes, to his shameless flirting with anything that walks, both men and women. But what you see on the outside can sometimes be deceiving. Andrew has a secret. A secret that’s slowly withering away the fun loving guy that everyone knows. A secret that even his closest friends know nothing about.

When he first sees Jase in a picture, he knows instantly that he’s found the one person who will be his forever. He’s just impatiently biding his time for him to get to Jaded Hollow. Andrew is torn. On one hand, he’s finally found the other half of his soul, while on the other hand, he’s slowly dying inside. Tragedy is on the horizon and there’s nothing he can do to stop it.

Jase Matthews comes to Jaded Hollow a dead man walking. He knows it’s only a matter of time before they find him. There is no way they’ll let him live. At his first sight of Andrew, he’s instantly drawn to him, but he refuses the connection, knowing his days are numbered. However, it’s not long before he realizes the pull Andrew has on him is something he can’t fight.

Can Andrew find the courage to reveal to his loved ones the secret he’s kept for years? Will Jase be the man to help him overcome the grief he feels inside? And what happens when Jase’s past catches up to him and threatens to take away the man Andrew’s waited forever to meet?

Renee’s Five Star Review
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an ha eat review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

Unveil Me is the third book in Alex Grayson’s The Jaded Series. Each book in this series can be read as a standalone but I so recommend reading the entire series The series revolves around a tight knit group of fiends with the main focus on a different couple for each book. I’m so in love with all these characters. You don’t want to miss a single second with them. This is Andrew and Jase story and is a m/m romance.

Andrew is the life of the party. A bartender at Jaxon’s Bar he is the life of the party. He is close to everyone in this group of friends but is hiding a huge secret from them all. While he’s out and the biggest flirt with both men and women and wears the craziest shirts with sayings on them, inside he is slowing dying. After seeing a picture of Chris brother who recently revealed his sexual status to his parents and is struggling Andrew knows from the first look that he’s found his forever. He’s not so patiently waiting on Jase to come to Jaded Hollow.

When Jase arrives in Jaded Hollow he knows he is living on borrowed time and the people after him won’t stop until he is dead. He’s is instantly drawn to Andrew but knows there is no way they can ever have a relationship because his days are numbered.

Can Jase fight his attraction to Andrew and get away from the people hunting him? Can Andrew find the strength to share the secret killing him inside? Together can they overcome all that being thrown at them?

I could not wait to get my hands on Andrews story!! Boy oh boy what I got was so not what I was expecting but in the best way possible. Andrew is so care free and loving; fierce in his protectiveness of his friends; the life of any party; and a man that wears tee shirts that have me laughing out loud. This story surprised me. It was not at all what I was expecting but so exciting for a reader. I so feel like I can not say much about this story line though or I’m going to give something away. It’s certainly a book you have to experience. Jase is an amazing character too but has some major baggage and danger he brings to town. You’ll be laughing out loud on minute and crying the next all while on the edge of your seat.

Don’t miss Unveil Me. Alex Grayson has done an amazing job with this book.

Alex Grayson is originally from the south, but has recently moved to Northern Ohio. Although she misses the warmth of Florida and often times detest the cold of Ohio, she absolutely loves living in the north. Her and her husband bought a house on two acres of land and live there with their daughter, son, one dogs, two cats, eight ducks, and three chickens. She hopes to eventually get a couple of goats to add to their country way of living. Besides her family and home, her next best passion is reading. She is often found with her nose obsessively stuck in a book, much to the frustration of her husband and daughter. On more than one occasion Alex found herself wanting a book to go a certain way, but it didn’t. With these thoughts in mind, she decided to start writing stories according to her own visions. Although this is a new endeavor for her, she hopes that readers find her concepts on romance intriguing and captivating. Alex welcomes and encourages feedback, of any kind.
