Carla’s 5 Star Review:

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

Hardball takes place in Los Angeles, and it is the story of baseball short stop Dash Wallace and the sweet and sensitive school librarian Vivian Foster. Vivian is just your ordinary woman who takes a class of underprivileged kids from her school on a field trip to Lemon Grove Park which is the home of the Los Angeles Dodgers. While there, she catches the eye of Dash. Dash is a professional athlete, and let me tell you that man has a ton of superstitions. Throw his ADD into the mix, and you have a man that must be in control of every minute detail in his life. When he meets Vivian and begins spending time with her, his entire world is turned upside down. Can he get past his superstitious beliefs and patterns and find something or someone that means as much if not more than his baseball career?

I must admit, it took me a couple of chapters to really get into this book, but I ended up really liking it! I loved that it was told from dual point of views. I felt like this really allowed me to connect with Dash and Vivian on a much deeper level. It is also a very emotional story, and the sex scenes are off the charts! If you are looking for a book with all the “feels”, this is the book for you!

About the Author:

CD Reiss Profile

CD Reiss is a USA Today bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn’t pick up she’s at the well hauling buckets.

Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master’s degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels.

She’s frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn’t ever gotten her out of chopping that cord of wood.

If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.
