Six years ago, a single text changed my world irrevocably. The life I never thought possible, the one I hadn’t even dared to dream of, was gone in an instantโ€”snatched away by the monster who would stop at nothing to own me.

The Barones always get what they want, though, no matter the costโ€”and the price of my two best friends, the men I loved, is one I’ll never pay … and he knows that.

He thinks he can break me, but he’s wrong. With every blow, I just come back stronger.

He thinks he can tame me, but the devil doesn’t play by anyone else’s rules.

When this devil reunites with her demons, there won’t be a soul alive that can stand against us. I’ve tasted darkness, and it only left my mind and body craving more.

Once I escape, there’ll be hell to pay … and the devil always collects.

Renee’s Five Star Review

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

This book is sort of a second chance romance I would say since Giana has been under the thumb of a very bad man for the last six years. However he did not break her and now she is returning home to her hometown and the boys she has loved her entire life but could never have. She has lived though some rough things and isn’t the same girl who left and lost six years of her life. But she is not a damsel in distress. I know that sounds a bit fairy tale in the way I have it described but this isn’t a retelling of any kind. I just couldn’t think of a better way to describe it. Now is the time for her to reclaim her life, the men she loves and the life that was taken from her all while rediscover the little devil inside her and the power she has with that little devil. I know that doesn’t make much sense but it will when you read the book. She has a bit of a villain inside of her and I really loved that about her. After all when you are going to make the people who have changed you and maybe even slighted you you need to hold on to a little devil inside of you. This story is told in multiple points of view and it goes from the present to the past and you get to discover things right along with all the characters in this book. You even will see the affect of things before you see what caused it. I really loved the way this book was written. It was unique to me and I love when something is different. I need to warn yo though that this book has quiet the cliffhanger and I was shocked and shook when it ended. I think that I was so engrossed in this book too, that I didn’t realize it was time for the book to be over.

About Renee Henson

Renee Henson has an obsession with reading and reviewing. Especially anything that is a dark romance, fairy tale retelling, MC, and is trying her best to love the PNR worlds. Nothing is quiet as exciting to her as reading a good book and then talking about it or making comments while reading with her friends that have read the book too. She is always happiest with her kindle in her hand and her nose is a book. She has been reviewing for Stephanie's Book Reports for over ten years.
