This is a dark romance. You will want to heed the warnings in the beginning of the book. It will contain triggers for some readers. However if you love dark romances then you have to read this author’s books. She writes some of the very best dark books I have read and I am a dark book loving obsessed with them reader.
This is the story of Mateo and Lucretia. These two are going to set your kindle on fire from their hate for each other. We are going the total opposite of the usual love for each other. It’s a tension so filled with hate that you can’t help but be hooked on them from the moment he walks into the chapel she is about to be married in. I do have to say that Lucretia wasn’t my favorite female character of all time. I didn’t really like her at first but whatever you do, do not lay this book down because of that. Things will change and you will understand her much more as the story goes on. This is a woman who never should have been born into the world she was born into. But then I think shes the light in all the darkness and didn’t let herself turn into a product of the world she was living in. Mateo is everything you need for a villain to be. But is he really the villain? He is one smoking hot character that is going to steal your heart. Yep, you are going to be falling for a lethal psycho really. He certainly is not afraid to get his hands dirty at all. But he has this possessive side of him that will just have you reading like a mad woman to know how these two we cannot stand each others characters are going to go. I don’t really want to go into the details of the story. I think you need to go into it blind to get the full experience that is Devils Captive.
