This is the story of Charlotte and Maverick. She is a girl who has been running from her past. But when she comes to the sleepy little town of Silver Rapids she decides to stay. She ends up working on a ranch where she is doing her best to build a new life. She doesn’t want anyone to know why she has run and started over. When asked about her past she is very vague about it. She certainly never brings it up to anyone. Maverick is a man who carries around anger like it is his life’s mission. He always feels like things are constantly happening to only him, while carrying around grief that he has never really processed. He has avoided Silver Springs with all he has in him. But even that was beginning to feel like people were judging him for the mistakes that he made in the past. HE and Charlie hate each other. This is the story of two people that life hasn’t been kind to in some cruel ways trying to find their way again in the world. There is a lot of tension in this book. Right along with a lot of spice. I loved seeing these two come out of their shell and be there for each other. I loved reading this book. I can’t discuss the plot of this book, or I am afraid I will give something away. It is full of twists and turns and suspense. I loved reading it and a lot of you will too.
