Blog Tour: The Persistence of Thornes by Micalea Smeltzer

The Persistence of Thornes by Micalea Smeltzer is now live!

Hawthorne Mills is supposed to be my chance to start over with my brothers. Becoming their guardian wasn’t the plan, but I’ll do anything it takes to keep them from being put in the system. Even if it means raising two teenage boys when I’m only twenty-three.

There’s one thing I don’t expect.

Caleb Thorne.

He’s literally descended from the founding family of the town and practically royalty here.

And also my new neighbor.

Which makes him privy to every screw up I make trying to navigate being a parental figure to my younger brothers.

It should be easy enough for me to avoid him but he’s annoyingly persistent in wanting to help me. I call it pity even if he insists it’s not.

The worst part is there’s undeniable chemistry between us and the more time we spend together the harder it becomes to resist.

But nothing good in my life has ever lasted so I fully expect Caleb to be another of those temporary things.

Renee’s Five Star Review

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

Halle’s life has been turned upside down. The girl is only twenty three years old and determined to keep her fourteen year old twin brothers out of the system. Their mother is off to prison but in reality it has always been Halle who has had to care for her brothers since their mom was so disinterested and wrapped up in other things. Now she is moving them to a new town for a fresh start but sure never expected her neighbor to be the towns golden boy. Caleb is her neighbor and a Family Law Specialist. When I say this guy has ethics of gold that is exactly what I mean. He has been married before and living in a situation himself that you will uncover as you read the book. But, what he never expected was the new neighbor who is not only catching his eye but someone he could fall for easily and hard for. That never happened with his ex-wife. These two both have pasts they are dealing with but Halle’s seems to be the more dominate one that could come back to cause her some trouble. I loved reading this book. I loved the build of the connection between these two and that they instantly didn’t fall for each other. I loved how we got to see a side of Caleb that was a little wow I did not see that coming. You will see what I mean when you read this book. I really loved this story and all of y’all will too.

Especially when my past demons finally catch up with me.
