This is and age gap forbidden romance. There is a twelve year age gap with the MMC being older. It is a small town romance too. This is the story of Valentine/Vale and Cortland. He has always been her brother’s best friend. Their families were really close too. Until a betrayal between Stone, Vale’s brother and Cortland changed all of that. Cortland was at fault and that cut her off and out of his life. Vale however has had a crush on him for as long as she can remember. However, one night in her twenties things heated up between them and it was probably not the greatest encounter of her life. This was the last time that Cortland and Vale spoke for twelve years. Now they meet again when Cortland is her sons baseball coach. She also is a massage therapist and he comes to her for help with his back. These two have had a lot go one between them and are both really still attracted to each other. However, if they are going to have a chance at a relationship it would have to be on the down low since Stone has never gotten over the betrayal and also had to give up so much to raised her when their father died. Do they have a real chance this time? I loved these characters and I rooted for all of this to go perfectly so that they could have the moment’s they had both thought about so many times. Their chemistry bleeds off the pages of your Kindle. Cortland also has touch aversion and it was so sweet how they worked though this. So this is not a meet again and bam all is well kind of read. I thought it was a beautiful love story with lots of patience and understanding between the two of them. It is a journey of love and healing and forgiveness that you do not want to miss.
