Renee’s Five Star Review

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

This is the story of Nova, Theo, Colt, and Atlas. Nova is a single mom. She and her son Sol. Make no mistake that Sol is an absolutely adorable, amazing human being. She is precious to each and every one of these guys. Theo is a cowboy. Colt is the mechanic/cowboy, and Atlas is a doctor. They at one time were all neighbors. However, that quickly apparently turned into so much more. They are all in a a relationship with each other when this book begins. I felt like I had stepped into book two of a series and had missed how all these people got together and their true dynamic. Theo is all about self preservation and he really broke my heart more times than he didn’t. I really felt for him and I loved that all of these characters really took care of him. Always making sure he had what he needed. Colt was a grump but deep inside he is a big ole softie. He has been though so much in his childhood and is working hard to get over the trauma that has caused. Atlas is the youngest of all of them and he has such tragic past but he really loves to nurture all the others. I think I have that all right. We just get glimpses of it. They are now reunited since Atlas has been away. I liked that we got hints of the past but I really would have loved to have had a book in front of this one to give these character’s the time we as readers need to really be invested in them and their story. The hints at the past and how they all got together left me a little on the what did I miss a book I should have read before this one and it almost felt like I have to guess about the past at times. Poor Nova goes though it in this book. Things are constantly happening to her. Her past is intense but we don’t get a glimpse of that until way far into the book, which was so odd to me. But she is so independent she is having to learn to let all the guys help her. What I really loved those was how much all these guys loved and cared for Sol. How she quickly became her world and they would do anything for this little ray of sunshine. I hate that I felt like I was missing something or several somethings the entire time I was reading this book. It would have been a four Star read for me had it not felt like I was jumping into the middle of a story.
