I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

This is the story of Kane and Emery. This is a small town romance and more. I loved the town of Moonlit Ridge and can’t wait to go back and read the books that I have missed. This is one of those books that you pick up and don’t want to ever lay down. I loved the mystery in the beginning of this book but I loved how they meet too. Emery is in one of Kane’s bars and he happens to be there too. He had noticed the girls sitting in the corner table all alone with her shoulders slumped nursing her drink. You could tell that she didn’t want anyone to talk to her. But, as luck would have it drunk boys will be drunk boys and one of them tries to approach her and isn’t taking no for an answer. The moment that Kane can actually see her face, he is taken with her and when he reduces her this leads to a night she will never forget. It also is the moment that she runs out on him without a word. The next day he never expected her to show up at his door and run again. What in the world is going on. There is a big mystery in this book. One that involves Emery’s sister, Kane and her niece. Her niece Macy is actually Kane’s daughter. He doesn’t know it until he does and that man steps right up to the plate. But they have a lot to work through while her life is constantly in danger. He can’t let anyhing happen to his daughter or her aunt for that matter. Will they be able to figure out what happened to her sister and keep Emery safe at the same time? Will Maci accept that Kane is her dad and them be able to form a relationship? Will Maci be able to leave them when she is suppose to go back home. I loved that these two took their time with Maci. I loved that he wanted Emery there with him the entire time period they had planned for. I love that Kane is this big bad bute and when it comes right down too it he will still mess you up, but has a heart of gold. Maci is the star of the book. I swear that little girl stole me heart every time I read about her. She had such a pure heart. I also loved that they didn’t try to leave her mom, even though she was gone, out of the picture. This book was so amazing. I devoured it. If I hadn’t had to go to sleep I would have read it in one sitting. I picked it right back up as soon as I woke up the next morning. Now I can’t wait for the next book to see who we get next.
