Seven days aboard a luxury cruise. The perfect getaway from it all. At least, that’s what Georgia Cantwell is hoping for… With her inbox filling with menacing emails, Georgia just wants to run away from her shattered life on her sorority’s winter break cruise. What she doesn’t need is green-eyed Jace McLaren seeing through her tacked-on smile and stealing her breath away with each tantalizing kiss. Growing up with a father in jail, Jace knows from experience that if you’re going through hell, there’s no way out but through. He has always steered away from girls like Georgia with her ice-queen attitude, but she’s in real trouble, and despite himself he pushes past her walls. As much as Georgia tries to ignore it, Jace won’t let her pretend with him. But she can’t tell him the truth. Her past would ruin his trust, her family, her future—everything. But out on the open ocean, there’s nowhere to hide. And when Georgia’s secrets come tumbling out, it might take more than Jace to get her through the storm.

Valerie Chase writes New Adult romance in the suburbs of Washington, DC. When she isn’t typing away on her laptop or dreaming up swoon-worthy kiss scenes, she loves sipping hot tea, taking long walks by her house, and getting lost in indie bookstores. (You’ll probably find her in one right now.) Full Steam Ahead is her first book.

ARC received for honest review.

money, secrets, boat, College

This book was book had me hooked from the start.

A perfect example of how looks can be deceiving.

Georgia (Georgie) recently split from her year and a half boyfriend.  She comes from a family that used to have old money.  Her parents expect her to marry for money and name sake.  A once rich family who is now broke. She tries to keep up appearance for appearance sake as well as for her parents. Georgia decides to go ahead with a cruise that she was supposed to be taking with her previous boyfriend because she has not yet told her parents about her recent breakup.  She carries a secret from prior years that was the demise from her previous relationship.

Jace who is a bit of a loner as well as a looker also has his own secrets.  People believe many rumours about him which most are not real.  Jace is believed to be quite the playboy.

Georgia and Jace end up getting paired together in the room when she decides to trade her room to get away from her ex.  We see the steam building for the pair early on.  Georgia and Jace have to find it in themselves to be able to trust one another with their innermost secrets.  Trust is very hard especially for Georgia considering the man she thought loved her dumped her after she confided her deepest darkest secrets.

We also meet Georgia’s best friend Yasmine (Yas).  Yas has had a rough past year but is pushing on.  She feels a little left out as well as protective of Georgia with Jace.  She has a love of dull knives……  She finds a little bit of her own romance.  (I hope that there will eventually be a book about her)  Yas is a bit too wrapped up into her own problems most of the book.

I do recommend this book.  This was a can’t put down type of book and I had to find out the Georgia’s secret.  The author had me hooked early on and was able to keep me hooked.  A definite well deserved 5 star from me

Tracy’s Review:

ARC received in exchange for an honest review. This is a cute story. I liked reading it. As a hopeless romantic, I always love a good swoon story.  I like Jace.  He is good for Georgia, and I would be interested in reading Yasmin’s story.  I give this book just 4 stars as I felt,  while I wanted to keep reading it, the book didn’t suck me in much for the storyline that was in it.  Perhaps that was just me. If you like a good love story, this one is right up your street. Light ,fuzzy and swoon worthy story, good read Valerie. 4 Stars!
