Renee’s Five Star Review

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

Stain is the second book in JM Walkers series where the Military world joins the MC world. Grit is the first book. Although the you could probably read Stan as a standalone in my opinion read Grit first will enhance the experience of Stain since precious events are discussed.

Asher Donovan just wants to be alone. He had a childhood no one should have to endure thanks to his step father. Vice One is his therapy while along with his brothers, the only family he’s ever known, protecting the county. Now he’s undercover and must convince his best friend Meeka Cline to help him. She’s a me end of the Kings Harlots MC. An all female MC. She’s is no longer trusted by her sisters and only wants that trust back. She’s has known Asher since childhood though and would do anything for him. Both on a mission to put away the depraved men who prey on innocent women Asher and Meeka find themselves in danger using the heat between them to help keep their cover. Can two best friends really cross the line to lovers and survive with that friendship only growing into the love of their lives?

I will be the first to say I was not to crazy about Grit. I felt like for a book containing a female MC they really never did anything, Stain however is action packed from the beginning to the end. I felt like I was reading a different series and I loved it. Asher and Meeka are two amazing characters and their chemistry will overheat your kindle. They have been best friends for forever and I loved how one supported the other no matter what. Asher is one messed up man from his childhood and Meeka his his light in the darkness and I love this relationship.  There is a  major line that friends to lovers have to cross all while weighing if it’s worth it.  In Stain it makes for one great story. Mixed wi love, passion, danger, and some dark elements it had me reading from start to finish.

Don’t miss this book. J M Walker has blown me away with Stain. I’m so glad I got to read and review it. I so can not wait for the next book. If your a fan of action packed books full of dark dangerous things your nightmares are made of but also full of passion and heat then Stain is a book you do not want to miss.

**Carla’s Five Star Review**

Stain is the second book in the King’s Harlots MC series, and it is Asher and Meeka’s story.

We were first introduced to both Asher and Meeka in Grit, and, I found myself very intrigued by both of them. Meeka is small in stature, but her huge heart makes her an unstoppable force. While we don’t really learn much about her past, Asher’s past is the stuff nightmares are made of. Asher and Meeka met as children, and Meeka quickly became is light in the darkness that surrounded him. As an adult, Asher is moody, angry, and withdrawn, and Meeka is still the only person who can calm the demons in his head. Just as these two begin to explore a relationship beyond friendship, they are thrown into a dark and disturbing situation.

While I enjoyed the first book in this series, this one blew me away! If ever two people deserved to find their happily ever after, it was Asher and Meeka. I will warn you-this book has a disturbing story line. With that said, it also contains a lot of drama and some scorchingly hot sex scenes. If you haven’t read this series, you are really missing out. JM Walker has created a very unique MC/ Military series you are sure to love. This book may be read as a stand alone, but I would suggest reading the first book to get a better understanding of the characters and their backgrounds.

Excerpt

The dark look of lust in Asher’s gaze almost had me coming apart right then and there. I wanted him. Every single thing about him. Even though I got him the once, it wasn’t everything he could give me. It wasn’t enough. He had held back. I knew that. He knew it. And this time would be real.

He told me he wasn’t good enough for me. Well, I would make damn sure he knew he was. But it would be about sex. The passionate need to consume each other’s souls.

He dominated, took control, and I gave in willingly.

When his hands grabbed my hips and lifted me in his arms, a wicked smirk spread on his face.

My stomach somersaulted. I was in for it.

Instinctively, I wrapped my legs around his waist; inviting him in to the spot I needed him most. But he didn’t need an invitation. He knew I belonged to him whether I wanted to admit it or not. I had been his for years. I went through men just for something to do, but they mostly just ended up as failed dates. I was inexperienced, and I wanted Asher to show me everything there was to know about pleasure. What he could do to me. What desires he had and the dark fantasies he craved.

Our chests heaved, our breathing mixing as one. The cool tile bit into my heated skin.

“Please,” I begged, circling my hips against his hard cock.

He didn’t move. He only held me tight in his hands, his fingers digging into the flesh of my rear.

I whimpered. I couldn’t take it anymore. The ache between my legs grew, burning with the need for him to take me to new heights I never experienced. I just wanted a little more. Maybe if I moved forward, I could get him inside me. My body shook. My feelings disappeared as the only thing I was worried about at the time was getting fucked. Not making love. I needed him to destroy me. “Please.” We didn’t have a condom. Maybe that was the issue. I was clean. I knew he was. “I want to feel you.”

His eyes darkened. In one powerful thrust, he filled me to the hilt.

I screamed, coming a part instantly in his arms. His name left my lips on a guttural cry, my head slamming against the shower wall.

Asher took that as his cue and drilled into me with so much strength, I was coming undone for the second time in a matter of minutes.

Lifting my knees to my chest, he thrust hard and deep. So deep, I could feel him fuck my soul.
