Kristen Weatherly is surviving. She’s been surviving her whole life. She can’t wait to get her diploma so she can leave town and create a new life, one worth living.

Having been hurt, Kristen doesn’t trust, and with good reason. But when she gets a job at the county library, a fellow co-worker and student, Mila, breaks through Kristen’s walls and befriends her. She shows Kristen that there are good people in the world, sometimes when you least expect it.

After a spontaneous run in with a boy named Chris that Kristen dubs Mystery Eyes, Kristen wars with herself about opening up to him because that can lead to more hurt and rejection.

As the two get closer, and secrets are revealed, will they be able to move beyond their pasts together? Or will those pasts come between them when they need each other most?

About the Author-

Allie lives in North Carolina and works at a university bookstore. She can usually be found either reading or writing. When she’s not, she might be watching something on television, whether a good show or movie; or she’s hanging out with friends. She loves to cook, and when she does there has to be music playing. Dancing isn’t out of the question either. She can also ramble at times, sometimes about the most random things. It’s a habit she picked up somewhere. She can’t seem to shake it.

Carrie’s Review:

I was asked to read and ARC of this book for an honest review.

Wow, I was skeptical of this book at first but you know that saying “don’t judge a book by its cover”? Ya you shouldn’t do that!!
I was actually impressed, and it kept me hooked. It’s well written and could be extremely personal if abuse is something you’ve experienced or known if. It’s not dark at all, touching on the subject but not in depth like other books. I loved the characters, their humor and the romance. Overall great read!

Tracy’s Review:

**SPOILER ALERT**

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. WOW! This book was so not what I was expecting! It was so brilliantly written, and at times, I felt I had to pick my jaw up off the floor. Whilst I hate to give Spoilers, I will say this John is a dirty, crappy, no good, sleaze. Ugh! he gave me the Heebie Jeebies; Shocking! I adored Chris and Mila and as for the low life parents, don’t even get me started. I wanted to throw my tablet against the wall in temper and outrage for Kaye. Allie Mathews this is a wonderful book. If I could give it TEN STARS I would have! I could NOT put it down! I give it FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS!!!!
