Trends’s 5 star Review

I volunteered to receive this book from the author

I have loved reading this series, the battle between good and evil has always left me considering how often I make choices in life, never thinking about the long-term effects they will have on me and others. What makes a human decide between good and evil?
Nina and Gabriel are no different. Both mortal angels, they have made decisions in life as mortals that still change their direction as angels. While Nina believes she might be living in peace now, Gabriel is still a tortured soul. They both deserved to be happy, but now their happiness isn’t what is important. What is driving everyone now is trying to avoid the battle between heaven and hell from erupting for as long as possible.
Chief Archangel Michael will have to be the voice of reason. After sending his sons to deliver a message to Earth, Gabriel messed it up and have now caused more trouble. Fearing he is going to have to expose the truth to people who shouldn’t know it, he is walking a fine line between being the kind of father that his sons need, and following the truths of Heaven that he doesn’t even understand himself.
I always love a book that takes issues most are afraid to play with and make a story that keeps you contemplating long after you are done reading it. This series is perfect. I was left wondering how I would act had I been Michael. With the love of a parent, he wanted to be there for his son, to help Gabriel through the pain, loss and revenge that still lingers from his mortal life, yet knowing that the wages of war could not only destroy heaven but change mankind forever, what would I do?
This book out of all of them in the series was really a wonderful display of personal needs versus others. How do you know when to put yourself before the orders from above? Nina and Gabriel are going to be asked to sacrifice for the greater good, but what about their own dreams and wishes. How does serving a higher power heal their shattered souls. They may be Mortal Angels, but they know the truth. They are flawed angels, wanting to do what’s right, yet needing to heal themselves at the same time and those paths don’t always merge together.
