Book Description:

Sometimes love burns so hot in your veins that it consumes all rational thought.
That’s why Brock and I never had a chance. I had to start my life over. College was my chance to become someone new. I changed everything about myself to fit in, but one person saw through my facade.
The attraction between Abel and I was undeniable, but I still hadn’t healed from the painful secret I carried around with me. Abel struggled to get me to face my past in order to move forward. In doing so, he revealed a secret of his own; one that changed everything I thought I knew.
A secret that would bring Brock back into my life and force me to face the truth of what really happened the day I lost him.

Donna’s 5 Star Review:

Delilah (Lie) Monroe was left when she was young by her mother, bullied most of her life, and left brokenhearted and alone by someone who promised her the world, to love her and be with her forever.  Brock lied and broke Lie. Lie runs away from the horrible things she’s deal with and now in Florida where she began college and try with some semblance to regain her happiness. Lie goes on a spiral of everything opposite of who she was for a chance to fit in. Making friends with her roommate where she begins a downward spiral that contains alcohol and drugs to numb the real person in her and let the fake person prosper. Lie meets Abel, Abel’s having had a hard time with a  hard past of his own. She finds herself feeling the way she had with Brock, feelings that she had tried to drown away to save her heart from being broken again. Abel realizes that if Lie doesn’t find help, some sort of comfort, solace, in life that she would succumb to the nightmare she’s tried so hard to get out of. Able seeing it as a give and take and decides to share with Lie his most deepest, darkest secrets, he never wanted anyone to know.

What can I say except damn that woman can write. The whole book had me up and down like a roller coaster, to the point where I was talking back to the book. Lie clearly needs resolutions in life for her ability to move on. Abel comes into her life as a bit of salvation even when he had his own issues he wanted so desperately to help her even if it meant having to tell all the horrors of his own life.

I didn’t anticipate the “gasp” factor in this book, well I did expect one but I didn’t expect this. I won’t spoil it for you so you have to read it for yourself. And you’ll never expect it and you’ll be like “holy sh*t”.

This is one of those books that will definitely leave you with a book hangover.

Can I have more? No, I need more!!  Please & Thank You!!

Author Bio:

“I was a Russian spy at the ripe age of thirteen, given my uncanny ability to tell if someone was lying ( I also read fortunes on the weekends). By sixteen I had become too much of a handful for the Lethal Intelligence Ensemble (L.I.E.). I was quickly exiled to the south of France where I worked with wayward elephants in the Circus of Roaming Animals and People (C.R.A.P.). I was able to make ends meet by selling my organs on the black market for pocket change and beer money. At the age of twenty three I decided to expand my horizons and become a blackjack dealer in Ireland. I loved the family atmosphere at Barney’s Underground Liquor Lounge (B.U.L.L.). People couldn’t resist the allure of Liquor up front and poker in the rear. Eventually I became tired of the rear and headed off to the United States to try my hand at tall tales. That is what brings us here today. If you have a moment I’d like to tell you a story.
