When Madison discovers Luke’s secluded cabin, he can’t turn her away again. They make no promises. Madison needs to feel wanted again, and Luke misses the touch of a woman. But when mother nature has other plans, they’re forced to spend more than a night of passion together. Can Luke say goodbye to the only woman who’s made him feel anything in years, and can Madison leave behind the man who brought her back to life?

When Madison Atwood got divorced from a Hollywood Hot Shot, she needed an escape. With the tabloids all over the news and the paparazzi on her heels she runs to s swanky retreat in Northern California. Avalon Springs is the mountainside haven she needs to find herself again.

Misadventures Of A City Girl was such a fun read. I loved both the characters of Madison and Luke. Madison’s life if a mess thanks to her cheating husband and their Hollywood divorce. She just needs to get out of town and find some peace in order to get her head together. She decides that a resort in Northern California is just the place to do that. However when she gets there it’s more of a group activity place than a place for lone solitaire moments so off she goes in search of the hot spring she saw online. There she runs upon Luke Dawson. One of the best looking men she has ever seen and she is immediately taken with him. However their encounter is brief and Madison goes up the mountain again in search of Luke and what she finds lights her on fire and leads to on steamy night of passion. A snow storm however keeps her in his secluded cabin for longer than either of them thought it would and they get to know each other. Will they be able to say goodbye to each other when the time comes or have they found their soul mate in each other?

Filled with fun moments, some drama and a broken man who feels that he is better off away from everyone than in society Misadventures Of A City Girl was so much fun to read. I devoured it and feel head over heels for Luke. You don’t want to miss this book. You might just find your next book boyfriend in Luke Dawson.

Stephanie’s 2 Star Review:

I received a copy of this book from the publisher for an honest review.

I was disappointed with this book.  I expected a much different book than I actually read.  So in this Misadventure we have Luke and Madison.  She’s recently divorced and seeks a retreat away from her busy LA life to heal from her marriage.  Luke is a former Navy SEAL that has a pretty severe case of PTSD – or so it sounded like in the beginning of the story.

Really what this book turned out to be was a sex fest and co-dependency.  My expectations for a plot that gave a meaningful love story didn’t come to fruition.  This couple latched onto one another and didn’t let go.  I get it’s fiction.  Totally understand that concept.  Except the fiction I like to read takes real life into consideration when written.

If you like stories with lots of sex this one is definitely for you!
