Book Description:
“The hottest collection of studs in romance” (New York Times bestseller Angela Knight) returns as #1 New York Times bestselling author J. R. Ward brings together two of the most beloved people in the Black Dagger Brotherhood world—at last… ….

Qhuinn, son of no one, is used to being on his own. Disavowed from his bloodline, shunned by the aristocracy, he has finally found an identity as one of the most brutal fighters in the war against the Lessening Society. But his life is not complete. Even as the prospect of having a family of his own seems to be within reach, he is empty on the inside, his heart given to another….

Blay, after years of unrequited love, has moved on from his feelings for Qhuinn. And it’s about time: it seems Qhuinn has found his perfect match in a Chosen female, and they are going to have a young. It’s hard for Blay to see the new couple together, but building your life around a pipe dream is just a heartbreak waiting to happen. And Qhuinn needs to come to terms with some dark things before he can move forward…

Fate seems to have taken these vampire soldiers in different directions… but as the battle over the race’s throne intensifies, and new players on the scene in Caldwell create mortal danger for the Brotherhood, Qhuinn finally learns the true definition of courage, and two hearts who are meant to be together… finally become one.

Book Review:
What can I say about the Black Dagger Brotherhood other than I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!  I was so excited Ward was writing Quinn & Blaylock, aka Blay, their own story.  As a BDB fan I feel like I’m in the Brotherhood mansion with them living as they live.  Ward has given these men their own identity their own since of self it’s like they’re really alive.  🙂
As you can tell from the description this story does not go without a bit of drama.  The feelings/ideas/thoughts left unsaid between Quinn and Blay are all because of assumptions, and you know what ASSuming makes you!  Now to explain a little of that so those of you who haven’t read any of the BDB series will understand…Quinn and Blay have been best friends since their teenage years.  Quinn’s family acted like he didn’t exist so he spent tons of time with Blay at Blays’.  Blay is gay and has always loved/lusted after Quinn but Quinn hasn’t returned those feelings.  As a matter of fact Blay things Quinn is straight.
Quinn helps a Chosen (similar to an angel) through her heat (extremely strong menstrual cycle eased only by sex) and she becomes pregnant.  Pregnancy is extremely dangerous to these female vampires.  They have a  hard time keeping their young and also living through their long pregnancy term.
There are lots of characters that have been added over the last few books and I had to try to remember who was who since I didn’t refresh my memory prior to reading this book.  Anyway….all the new characters made this story interesting as puzzle pieces from the previous story are falling into place.
Let’s see what can I say about Quinn and Blay w/o giving away what happens in this book.  They really are a perfect match and my need for them to quit with their assumptions and sit in a corner and talk it out was frustrating to say the least!  🙂  I so wanted them to hurry it up!  lol  While they’re in their seperate corners eyeing each other while the other’s not looking Blay’s boyfriend Saxton (also Quinn’s cousin) break up.  Yet, Blay doesn’t inform Quinn he and Saxton are not together any longer.  I swear if he had 3/4 of this story wouldn’t be necessary.  Thanks for keeping us on our toes Ms. Ward!  🙂
Needless to say this is a must read for BDB fans.  If you haven’t started on the BDB series and love romance you should get started today!  Here’s the link to the very first one to get you in the loop.
