Raising the Phoenix
Book #1
Blurb:
The Alpha is the leader of the pack, a revered position, one that can’t be inherited, only earned. For ten years my father groomed me to take over in the event something happened to him. I guess I never expected it to happen so soon. I thought I’d have more time. I thought I’d at least graduate from college first. Instead, life threw the Phoenix Pack a curveball. My father was murdered, and my mother died with him. Suddenly, I’m responsible for my twin sisters, and everyone else. I’m forced to make some tough decisions. And if everyone in the pack has their way, one of those decisions will involve finding my mate. They should’ve given me an easier task, like brokering world peace or curing cancer. After all, what male would ever volunteer for this, having a mate who’s also his Alpha, leaving his pack to join hers, and giving up everything he has ever known?

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.
Raising the Phoenix by Emma Nichols is where we first meet Quinn and Savannah (Savvy).  Savvy is the oldest daughter of the pack’s Alpha and Quinn is an architect.   Savvy has hired to help rebuild their homestead.
When these two meet Savvy is under a lot of stress.  Quite a bit has happened in the beginning of the book that changes her life forever.  Now it’s about to change again!
I really enjoyed this story.  I chased down the author and tour host so I could get the other two stories for review.  To say I devoured them is an understatement.  This series is easy to read quickly and they flow quite nicely together.

Cursing the Moon
Book #2

Blurb:
Savannah Silver has met her mate.

Her wolf has chosen, but the Alpha who can silence others with a look and command her pack with a word has been refused. While she waits for him to come to his senses, Savvy works to find her parents’ killers, rebuild the homestead and ensure Shelby’s future.

Quinn Holderman has met his match.

Being part wolf and part husky has always been a disadvantage. Becoming a rogue was his only hope for happiness. Then Quinn met Savvy. In his mind, his reasons for denying her made perfect sense. In reality, he has suffered every second they are apart.

He needed more time. She needed her mate. Together, they’re cursing the moon.

This is the continuation of Raising the Phoenix by Emma Nichols where Savvy meets Quinn aka Howl and they learn they’re mates.  There’s one issue though.  Quinn doesn’t want to mate.
This is where you’re going to say whaaaaaaat?  Yeah, didn’t know they could refuse their mates did you?  He’s not out and out refusing.  He just needs more time to accept he found his mate.
Meanwhile Savvy is kicking butt and taking names.  Figuring out who killed her parents and why.  Not to mention her Aunt has some things in store for her as well.  Nothing like being introduced to the other area packs as the new Alpha of her pack.
There’s lots of different side stories going on in this series.  Savannah’s sisters have whined about not being able to get their mates to see them because Savvy’s always around.  Because she’s unmated they only see the Alpha until forced to see otherwise.  It’s quite funny these sisters.  You’ll be wanting to give them advice on how to get the guys attention that’s for sure.
Still no Savvy and Quinn mating.  Keeping his wolf/husky a secret from her family is what’s setting the sisters on edge about Savvy attracting their mates.  Definitely a difficult situation.  I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Healing the Heart
Book #3

Blurb:
Sometimes love isn’t enough. Sometimes love can’t conquer all. Sometimes healing a heart takes time.

Quinn doesn’t have time. Instead, what he has is a looming deadline. The mating must take place by the full moon or not at all. He thought he had made up his mind. He thought he could live with his decision. Then Savvy disappeared.

Savvy is an all or nothing kind of girl. She needs a strong mate, a decisive mate, a loving and supportive mate. Unfortunately, Quinn refused to be that mate. Losing him was breaking her heart. Staying busy was her only coping mechanism. Ignoring her needs and focusing on the pack helped her find everything she ever needed.

Sometimes the threat of losing everything can change minds and hearts. Sometimes the promise of a better future and a determined mate can heal a heart in record time.

Dude!  LOL  So here we go.  Lots happening in this little book.   Quinn and Savvy are no closer to becoming mates than they have been in either of the other two stories.  The full moon is upon them and their urge to mate is strong.  I could be consuming if Savvy doesn’t keep herself busy.
No worries on that front.  She has a murder to solve and a former pack Beta to find and reprimand. Together with her sisters mates she decides to check out somethings she’s found that were quite unexpected.
One of those leads her right to her former Beta.  In turn leading her right into the murders hands.  Strategy has always been her strong point.  If only the Beta had not gotten in over his head with a rival pack he’d have known Savvy or her father would be the best answer for his problems.  Instead they’re on the run for the fight of their lives.
Capture almost ensues but with a collapse of a structural beam in a cave being forced to come down blocks them in with no way out and no one knowing where they are.
Sometimes these situations can kick start a loved one in the pants to see what they’d be missing if they don’t get their acts together.  The reveal of Howl and the saving of Savvy all come to a head.
Though the author saves the best for last.  I enjoyed reading about these characters.  Their wit and quick thinking are definitely a plus in my book.  Pick this series up today.  I’m sure if you love wolves like I do – you’ll enjoy The Howl Series.
