Book Review:
I love reading books by Scarlett Metal so when I read the book description I thought it might have more angst to it than her normal books do. I was worried about it, quite frankly.
I’m happy to say I was wrong. I enjoyed reading this story about Lance and Sam. I know several people who suffer from alcoholism. Lance is no stranger to the bottle. He really does have a problem. He quit cold turkey the last time he was in bad shape and he found Sam again. They have a sweet, loving relationship. Then Lance has to go on tour with out Sam. Since getting back together they haven’t been but maybe a day or two without one another. This time it will be three months!
Sam is pregnant with their second child and she’s a writer by profession and will be doing a book tour the same time as Lance’s band tour. She’s having a time with this pregnancy trying to write, chase after their daughter, doing her book tour, and checking in our Lance’s mother. If you’ve ever been pregnant before you know just being pregnant can cause you to be tired most of the time without even adding all the other responsibilities on your shoulders.
So…the major question here is what will happen to their relationship while they are apart? Lance has promised Sam he wouldn’t drink…yet here he is drinking while on tour. There’s some things going on with his band’s label and his mother is about to drop a bomb on him, which won’t help. Lance is trying to hide that he’s drinking. He thinks, like all with an addiction, he can kick it as soon as he’s done with the tour. He’s not opening up to Sam. Oh…and of course there’s more drama….the skank that broke Sam and Lance up the first time…is back on the tour bus trying to weezel her way back in the band’s graces.
