I loved him from the age of sixteen.

Hated him from the age of eighteen.

He disappeared at the age of nineteen.

We started off as enemies, then fast became lovers.

But our story isn’t a happily ever after.

It was a story of a king and a peasant. Can you guess which I was?

I knew we weren’t meant to be.

You see, he fell in love with her first. He loved me last.

I’m not someone’s second choice.

Not even for the boy who stole my heart.

I’m someone’s first.

Now, I just have to remember that.

Renee’s Five Star Review

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
Distorted Love is the first book in the Dark Intentions Duet from T.L. Smith. You should expect a cliff hanger since this is a duet.

This book is absolutely amazing. It is not your typical love story and will have you felling so many things and trying to guess what is going to happen next. Distorted Love is about Ryken and Saskia along with her cousin Livia who is just not Saskia’s cousin but her very best friend. You see, Saskia is not born into wealth and privilege, but Ryken and Livia have been. Livia’s dad is Saskia’s Uncle and his family helps her out where they can. That is how she ends up at a private school with Livia. She also wears the hand-me down clothes that Livia gives her. These two are polar opposites though. Where Saskia would rather stay home than attend a party or date a boy, Livia is a party girl who goes through men like most girls go through underwear. I was not a fan of hers and at times, and you will get why, I hated her. I felt like she wasn’t adding to Saskia’s life but trying to ruin it. Robert is the only other friend that Saskia really has and I loved him. He always seemed to be their for Saskia and loved her for who she was. Ryken, is obsessed with Saskia. He wants her like he has never ever wanted anyone else but she is shy and keeps her head down but he is going to change all that. Soon though the attraction grows and Saskia starts to have feeling for her. But, Ryken’s father is not thrilled about it and would just as soon sell her than to have Ryken anywhere near her. Ryken’s father is not a good guy at all. I will let you read and find out what exactly is going on and the choices that Ryken makes and why. I mean I get why but it is so unfair and my heart broke for Saskia so many times. I know this review has to sound crazy but I do not want to give anything away and feel like this is a book you definitely have to experience for yourself.
If you have read T.L Smith before you know that your going to get one dark, amazing, mind blowing book. You also are going to have to wait to see how this book ends in the second book. I know I would love to have that book in my hands right now. However, the wait is not long as Sinister Love is coming in April.
