My name is Melody Greene, and I have a confession to make.

I slept with my student, a senior in high school.

Multiple times.

I had multiple orgasms.
In multiple positions.
I slept with my student and I enjoyed it.
I slept with my student and I’d do it all over again if I could turn back time.
My name is Melody Greene, and I got kicked out of my position as a teacher and did my walk of shame a la Cersei Lannister from the principal’s office, minutes after said principal threatened to call the cops on me.
My name is Melody Greene, and I did something bad because it made me feel good.
Here is why it was totally worth it.

Defy is a smutty, insta-love, insta-lust short novella. Defy is a prequel to Vicious (Sinners of Saint #1). It is recommended, but unnecessary, to read Defy before reading Vicious.

**Carla’s Five “I’m Hot For Teacher” Stars

Defy is the prequel to Vicious (Sinners of Saint #1). I read Vicious before reading this one, but I recommend reading Defy first so you have a better understanding of all of the characters.

This is a student/teacher romance, and it is HOT HOT HOT! Melody Greene had one dream-becoming a prima ballerina. Thanks to an injury, she was forced to put that dream aside and become a teacher. Did she want to be a teacher? No! Did she feel as if she was a good teacher? Heck no! She is really just going through the motions of life not really living. That all changes when Jaime Followhill barges into her life.

Jaime is an 18 yr old senior who attends All Saints High. He and a group of his friends make up the elite group known as the “Hot Holes”. Yes, that is a horrible name for a group of guys, but it really suits Jaime and his friends. The Hot Holes not only rule All Saints High but the entire town of Todos Santos as well. When Jaime decides to blackmail his hot Lit. teacher, a lot of chaos and even more debauchery ensues!

Melody and Jaime were both well developed and extremely endearing characters. Melody was a strong woman who had no trouble owning her sexuality. And Jaime? He was all alpha male with a dirty mouth to boot. When these two came together, the sexual tension just oozed out of my kindle!

Overall, this was a quick and fun read. I had the opportunity to read Vicious, the first full length novel in this series, and it was beyond great! I can’t wait to read more about this highly entertaining group! L.J. Shen, You Rock!!

Renee’s 5 Star Review:
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

Defy is the prequel to Vicious the first book in the Sinners and Saint Series by L.J. Shen. If you haven’t read Vicious you should read this one first. But, if you have read Vicious, Defy is still a good book because if your like me you wanted to know more about Jamie and Melody from the hints we got of them in Vicious.

I absolutely loved this book. I really enjoy well done believable insta love stories. Melody Greene has lost her everything. She desperately wanted to dance her entire life but that ended with a freak accident. A career change to teaching and she finds herself at a high school teaching English Lit to the most privileged spoiled kids ever. The Hot Holes run this school and Jamie is one of them. His interest in his teacher is made known one day by blackmail. This begins the story of Melody and Jamie. Teacher and student. A forbidden romance. Jamie is eighteen and Melody is twenty six so if the age thing is bothersome to you I will say he’s eighteen, a senior in high school with just a few short weeks left of school.

This book had surprises, twists and turns, and secrets. There is also Jamie’s Mom. Principle Followhill. Oh how I can not stand this woman. I didn’t like her in Vicious and I sure didn’t like her in Defy. She’s horrible, but so much fun to hate. Every story needs a villain and she is it.

This is my second book by L.J. Shen. I can not wait to go back and read her previous books. But, I sure can’t wait to see what happens next in this Sinners and Saints Series. You do not want to miss this series.
