Review of Dear Juliet
Dear Juliet is beautiful. Just beautiful. I am seriously in love with this book, Trudy’s writing and the entire series.
Dear Juliet is considered to be Seth’s story but to me it is the story of Seth and Juliet. It’s the story of two 10 year old classmates who become pen pals in school and turn into forever friends, forever family. They have a lifelong bond that can’t be broken no matter what life throws at either of them. And it throws plenty at both of them. Told in alternating points of view, Trudy tells an amazing story that will pull you in and pull at your heart.
Trudy really is such a talented writer. One of the things I love about Dear Juliet is the actual story itself. There’s no fluff. And while I do like a fun, fast read I also enjoy books with depth. Books that make me feel, that make me think, that make me sympathize with the characters. Dear Juliet deals with many life issues but specifically those around adoption. I was so impressed that Trudy could write about a topic so close to her heart. I’m sure it was not easy but perhaps that is what makes the story even more perfect, heartfelt and touching.
Trudy writes about real life. And I love it. Life isn’t always easy but we learn, we grow and we continue to live. And her characters and their experiences reflect all that. Dear Juliet is the perfect conclusion to an amazing series. All of the books tie so perfectly together. And I was disappointed to see it end.
Sooooo. Imagine my excitement when I finished Dear Juliet and read there is going to be a spin-off series!! I freaked out. I really did. I cannot wait for that!
